The doctors and staff were great. The reason for the 1 star is the billing department. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE ! I would fire them all. My husband had appointments starting in 2017 into 2018. I got my bill. I paid my part and insurance paid their part. Get another bill -over due. They tell me they didn't get either payment. Had to get copies of my check and ins.check and fax it to them. They find they applied to not only the wrong bill but the wrong year. trying to work with them is impossible. Sent another two checks for another bill to the clinic. wrote on the check where it was to go, with visit date, name of doctor and acct' #. Guess what? They applied it wherever they wanted! Now my bill is a complete total mess! While trying to straighten out the mess they sent the first one to collections even though they said they wouldn't . The ins co. is involved in trying to help figure out their mess! Hopefully I never have to deal with this place again. Hopefully no-one else has to go through what I have with their billing department. Sorry for the long review, but I have alot to say. could go on but I think you get the idea.

The worst. I’ve traveled across the county and been to clinics and hospitals coast to coast. This place is horrible. A meat market. The receptionist told the doctor I was there for a physical. I was there for a sprain. But I promise you she paid attention when I gave them my billing and insurance. My advice. Avoid these people at all costs. When it becomes more important to take your money than heal your ails, I’m thinking it’s time to hang it up. I walked out and suggest you do the same

A waste of time. This place makes you jump through unecessary hurdles just to get any care at all. For Marshfield Clinic, your money is their main priority and your health is secondary.

My son had a detached retina. We took him to the Marshfield clinic to see Dr Scott Paulman for surgery to re-attach his retina. Dr Paulman said it was a easy surgery with a high probability of success. After four failed surgeries by Dr Paulman my son is now permanently blind in one eye. This is not entirely Dr Paulman's fault because Dr Anderson who was assigned to watch for serious conditions which may develop in my son's eyes failed to monitor him closely and thoroughly. My son has a condition called Uveitis which was never taken into consideration for his eye treatment until it was to late. The office staff was acting strange on several occasions. On one appointment one of the nurses stated that my son had a eye pressure of 90 which is impossible and only caused us to worry much more than we already had. Eye pressure is usually between 0-30. Some questions were unprofessional at times.

I hope you don't mind paying $30-$60 whatever your insurance copay is , for visiting Urgent care, only to be told by RothFuzz. It's viral , can't help ya bud. How would he know? Did he stick a Q-tip in my ass and examine microbes under a microscope?

No, I DO NOT recommend Marshfield Clinic. Just got done with an appointment with JF Herbert R Macalalad MD Internal Medicine in Weston. This was the first time I saw him and will be my last. I never have had a doctor so disrespectful and confrontational in my life. The man treated me like a criminal. At end of the appointment basically threw me out of the office. By reading some of the comments here seems like it is standard practice for Marshfield Clinic's Doctors and Nurses to be disrespectful, confrontational and treat their patients like criminals. The only resolution that I will make me consider coming back to Marshfield Clinic is you fire JF Herbert R Macalalad MD.

This clinic is a joke ~ sit and wait for 3 hours in a room and still haven’t seen a doctor !?! They must charge by the hour the only thing I see is my bill going up as my health decreases! All I see on here is one bad review after another - this clinic won’t do anything to change for the better - all about the money! As I sit in this room listening to the doctors and nurses have fun banter in the hallways - seriously! May take my chances and get up and go to a new facility!

Is it standered practice to wait 7-8 months to give a final bill to your patients (our daughter was born c-section) in May and we were still getting NEW bills into January! I also love how start to finish for a carpal tunnel diagnosis took 5 visits and 4-5k the shot is less then 200$!!!! As a owner of a small business I wouldn’t be in business if i ran my company like yours, I would be considered a thief or a liar!

I do not recommend this clinic. Their billing is ridiculous. I got charged almost $300 for a simple appointment to get a script for Chantix to quit smoking. I did not get an exam or anything. The doctor didn’t even listen to my heart or lungs just wrote out the prescription. When asked billing September said since I haven’t seen a doctor in 3 years I was charged more. I told them I wasn’t even really seen by this doctor. You’d think if they are charging you more they would actually look and listen to your lungs ect.

Terrible experience yesterday at the first floor lab. My dad is undergoing chemo, is very weak/sick, is too weak to walk, and needed to use the restroom. I wheeled him into where the lab restrooms are only to be scolded by staff that the bathrooms are for patients who need to use them for lab procedures. I counted 4 restrooms where I was and not one was occupied by a patient at the time. Where is the empathy and compassion for your patients? To the lady who gave me the scolding, you’re lucky I didn’t want to upset my dad by your callused behavior or I would have told you where to go. Stop treating people so poorly and have some empathy of their situations. Remember without these patients you wouldn’t have a job!

Have had 3 appointments cancelled at the last minute after we were already in town. They decided someone else was more important than my husband.2 and a half months and we still don't know if my husband has prostrate cancer. Keep saying to schedule another appointment and then they cancel that one. Filed complaints against 2 people and nothing was done to solve the problem.

No I most definitely DO NOT recommend Marshfield Clinic. Today I had the worst experience, I had an appointment with my primary care physican and when I arrived I was told I could not be seen because I was late. I was late because I drive 40+ minutes to Wausau Campus and things happen on the road. I missed two hours of work, spent an hour and half on the road to be turned away because I was a few minutes late? There have been numerous times where I have waited way longer than the 15 minutes past my appointment time to be seen but if I’m late, I can’t be seen.

If I could give less than one star I would. While on vacation a couple weeks ago I went into the ER in Rice Lake WI with a bad cough thinking possibly pneumonia. The doctor listened to my lungs said they were clear no pneumonia, said probably bronchitis, gave me a prescription for an antibiotic and sent me packing. At most was only there 15 minutes. I just received a bill for $651.00. needless to say I will never use a Marshfield facility in the future.

This place is robbery. They upcharged a simple urgent care visit to a level 3 that was a very minor problem and that costed $300 for a 5 minute or less visit. Then I had an MMR drawn and they charge separately for measles, mumps, and rubella which brought a charge that should've been $100 at other facilities up to over $350 for one lab titer. Customer service is laughable as they were zero help whatsoever. I would recommend avoiding this place if you're not wanting to get a random $650 bill in the mail for a total of 15 minutes of the clinic's time.

I love our pediatrician at the clinic , however I’m very disappointed that there is not any sort of separate waiting rooms for sick babies and well (healthy) babies. Every time I’m up there, there are adults and children with runny noses that are coughing into their hands - or not covering their cough at all - and then playing with toys/books/etc. That whole area seems like a breading ground for every type of illness. It’s gotten to the point that I don’t even want to bring my child in and expose him to the other children and parents in the waiting room.

Bad bad bad service. Careless doctors. Careless dentists. Tacked on unnecessary charges. They hire doctors that can barely speak English. I would not recommend going here if you have any other choice. Once again, shame on you Marshfield.

Very rude condescending staff. Doctors act like you are wasting their time if you have questions. We have to beg for referrals, beg for tests, beg for appointments. We have never been treated with respect and none of our very serious health problems and concerns have been addressed in a competent professional timely manner. Truly embarrassing.

This is a very long review but all of this has to be said. The ER in Rice Lake is atrocious to say the least. My fiancé was seen there a few months back for breathing difficulties and they just treated him like he was a chore. I was on my way driving him to the emergency department when I called 911 to let them know we would be there in a few minutes and To have somebody waiting outside to grab him. He was turning blue, crying, not able to speak, and thrashing everywhere. When I pulled up there was no one in sight ,had to run inside screaming “help us please my fiancé cannot move or breathe we need help!” Nobody came, we waited a good five minutes before I had to run back in and said “is anybody coming he can’t breathe hes blue!” We still waited a good three minutes until some men came out with the bed, and then a few moments behind them a woman came out and told the men he didn’t need the bed, as they were assisting him onto the bed, and put him in a wheelchair instead because it wasn’t an emergency. He was literally gasping for air. They wheeled him back into the triage area and we are waiting in there for about another 10 minutes for anyone to do anything. The nurse is just getting frustrated with him because he can’t answer her questions, he can’t even breathe or speak but she wants him to answer her questions?? She leaves the door open where the staff goes, and after a few more minutes I peep my head in there to see many people just sitting there listening to my screams for help and him gasping. I see his nurse and yelled at her, “are you going to start a nebulizer treatment? He feels like he’s going to die!” She just kind of chuckles and then comes in after a few minutes and starts one very slowly. Once he finally started to regaining his color and being able to breathe, she immediately starts with the questions again. They ask us if he has been using drugs and that’s why he cannot breathe. He has severe allergy induced asthma and the pollen count that week was extremely high. They act like were lying and we’re just a huge inconvenience to them. They send him off with some medication, not even trying to figure out what set off anything or why he couldn’t breathe that badly. Turns out he can’t even take the medication they prescribed him because it reacts terribly with his anxiety, and starts getting severe anxiety attacks where he has started not being able to breathe and we would have to go back to the emergency room again just to have them do nothing. We still aren’t sure what happened or why.
