Open Door is wonderful and my experience there has been exceptional. The staff are supportive, knowledgable, and caring. They make sure that each person is heard, even if it may feel uncomfortable to share at first. I was reluctant and outright refused to try or participate at certain points, but the staff was always there with unwavering support and open ears. If you put in the effort - the skills, tools, and community that are provided can be extremely helpful in becoming a more effective person.

Two years ago, I almost lost my life due to a negligent, unprofessional therapist at Open Door. My family is just now receiving word that we apparently have unpaid fees that are now in collections and due in full in 20 days (after not hearing a word from them in over 2 years). I am quite literally shaking while writing this post because I thought I had successfully removed myself from that traumatizing company after receiving such life-threatening \"care.\" Instead, the memories from that time have flooded back into my mind and I am now petrified that I will be forced to pay for a service that almost killed me. I can\'t stress this enough: my life has gotten so much better after leaving Open Door Center for Change. If you are struggling, please look elsewhere so you don\'t risk having a similar experience. Update: I will say this: Open Door helped me reach my absolute rock bottom. Their lack of care and expertise left me so broken and desperate that I attempted my own life; and only after that experience did I finally realize I needed to free myself from their unhelpful and corrupt practices. My therapist at the time shamed my parents for contacting her when they hadn\'t heard from me for over 18 hours. Thankfully, my parents ignored her advice to \"back off\" and called the police. If it were up to that therapist\'s judgements, I would be dead right now. I moved back home to Minnesota and started receiving proper care and am now so much happier and have a hopeful outlook on life. After all of the pain and suffering I endured from this company, they still made me pay the random past-due bill they so lovingly sent to collections 2 years after leaving them. I made sure to get a copy of a statement saying I am up-to-date financially in case they try to pull a stint like this in another 2 years. This company is untrustworthy and a dangerous threat to anyone suffering from mental illness.

I went to several DBT group sessions and was seriously disappointed with the care (or lack thereof) that I received. There’s no cap on sharing time and literally an hour and fifteen minutes went to the other patients ranting about their lives and fifteen minutes to actual DBT skills. Nearly TWO YEARS after this ineffective therapy, I received a notice that I’m being sent to collections for unpaid copays that I was never even billed for. Don’t waste your money, time, or energy on this place because you’ll pay for it three times over. EDIT: In response to the owner’s reply below, I DID try to contact Open Door several times about my experience and left voicemails but no one ever returned them. I never post online reviews, but my experience has been THIS bad.
