Don’t send your loved ones here! This place is a Auschwitz and if you have problems at the start then you will have 99 problems in this place. I have to say the doctor and the staff are discourteous and unprofessional. I was subjected to psychological and physical abuse while I was in this so called mental health hospital supposedly claiming to help people.

I was admitted there and at first the staff is nice but then it gets worse the longer you go there. None of the staff like is laid back the nurses are rude. Nothing to do for 9 hours of the day. I was misdiagnosed and took medicines which made me more suicidal and cause to attempt 5 times after I left. The environment is like all run down broken walls are losing paint freezing colded at night. One of the guys when I was there pierced his own ear with a comb and the staff didn’t stop him. They won’t allow you to visitation for most of the week. One of the techs got mad and threw the clipboard and started cursing. Therapy sucked ass. It was my first time at a hospital and made me hate hospital. I have nightmares cause of this place

STAY AWAY! My child went there for suicide attempt and after one night there, we had to get them out per their Psychiatrist\'s instructions because they were being threatened by their roommate so they didn\'t sleep. I regret ever taking my child there! When I picked my child up after 36 hours of being there, they were in worse shape than when I took him there for help.

Warning from the Inside! This \"hospital\" is not a hospital at all! 98% of the staff do not have proper credentials to do the job they do. They lie to get people admitted because they are only worried about keeping their doors open since their main hospital was closed down (by the state) a few years back. If you or your loved one have a substance abuse issue DO NOT SEND THEM HERE! This place has no way of providing correct care for an individual with a substance use issue. They admit everyone with a mental health condition even if it is a substance issues because they want to get the money. Their way of handling detox issues is a shot….A SHOT. They makeup diagnosis that do not fit what the patient complains about and they do not follow proper treatment protocol. They discharge patients without finding them placement and some patients just sit in the lobby or roam the parking lot for days and nights until they just decide to admit them again (because of course they should get paid for these days they will not leave). Most if not all of the patients are Medicaid and Medicare recipients and they treat them horrible because they assume the state is too busy to look into complaints. Once or twice a month they are investigated by the state so I would encourage anyone and everyone to REPORT, REPORT, REPORT! Do not allow any staff member to talk you out of reporting this place to authorities, they will try and they will advise you that they will follow through on reporting issues and concerns but THEY DO NOT! Review your bills if you get them they add just about anything, DO NOT give these people credit card information over the phone or give them your credit card while you are there NOTHING is secure and all information is written down for anyone to see. JUST DO NOT GO to this place. I give them a few months until they are completely closed down.

I have had few positive experiences when calling, the professionalism is void. I call and asked to speak to a particular nurse and she gets on the phone smacking as if she\'s eating. I ask a question and she replies, say what... My child was here more than a month and had No schooling or educational information provided. I understand that this is no a school setting, but watching TV and playing games is not beneficial.

I\'ve been admitted to Intracare North about 3 times as an adolescent. It\'s a little more strict than the now closed Intracare South was. They are very clean, great discharge planning, unbiased therapist that let you speak your mind, serve great food, patients you feel could be siblings and the nurses always make sure you are SAFE. I also met my husband when I was 13 years old at the Intracare South by Fannin in March 2010.❤

This place is horrible. Reminds me of a Horror movie. My child got beat up in there, i pulled him after the third day when they called and said they were taking him to the hospital. When I saw him at the hospital he had 2 black eyes. NOT ACCEPTABLE. Hygiene is of concern. They say they make these kids take showers.. that is a LIE. My 8 year old came out knowing stuff he should not know til he is least 11 and cussing like a sailor, (no pun intended), more anger than when he went in. Very unprofessional and nasty living conditions. If I would have actually known and had a choice, my child would have NEVER gone in there. They don\'t even deserve a star, but had to give them one, so I could post this.

If you want help for a loved one, do NOT go to IntraCare North. Our son was admitted there, mainly because he did some things he shouldn’t have at school and ran away. We needed help, but weren’t sure where to go for help, so we came to IntraCare North. The times I visited him there, he was EXTREMELY agitated (couldn’t be still) and talked about how much fun he was having playing with his new friends and going downstairs to get cokes and deserts. His “help,” or treatment, consisted of a single visit with his doctor for 15 minutes (if that long), two group meetings with his “friends” (where they discussed coping skills), and popping him full of pills. These group meetings, according to my son, were mediated by a “counselor,” who did not interact much, except to ask the questions to be discussed amongst the group. Evidently, the direction of the group meetings is provided by the kids, not the counselor. When pressing him for examples about how certain things should be handled according to group consensus, when a child is being beat up at school, they (the kids) should step in and beat the other kid up. This was a real question and response. According to our son, the counselor didn’t step in to say anything about getting an adult to help, etc. So, he came away vindicated in feeling he can beat up other kids, if the “cause” is right. There were other similar examples, but this was the way group was being handled. This was a part of their “treatment.” Our son also talked about some of the kids getting shot-up with “booty juice” (an injection in the butt to calm them) when they cussed. All this and every time I went to visit our son, I heard the kids using foul language in front of staff, with no staff response. But when I asked our son about what happens when they get in fights, as I heard one during one of my visits, he said they just talk to them (no “booty juice”). He gave a couple examples. So, when we called to identify these issues to the IntraCare Medical Director, asking for some help, their response was to discharge him, saying there was nothing else they could do. Isn’t this called “retaliation?” We complained, but it did no good. The next day, our son went back to school. We felt alright with this, knowing he was supposed to be in “In-School Suspension (ISS),” supposedly supervised by a teacher to keep him active in some type of classroom environment. We dropped him off at the door and watched him enter the school as he was met by a teacher to direct him to his ISS. We were expecting to pick him up after school the same way. However, we received a call from the school early in the afternoon, saying our son ran away, running into the street to get away from teachers who were trying to catch him. The police were called and they sent him to IntraCare North, again. I left work and met the police and school principal there and started the process of admitting him into the facility, hoping we would get better treatment, considering the complaint we gave them last time, only to find out our son did not meet the criteria for admission. Evidently running away (into the middle of a street to get away) was not sufficient enough to have him admitted. Evidently, living on the street, where deviants could pick him up and do “whatever,” was not sufficient enough to be considered criteria for admission to IntraCare North. Evidently, running away is not considered wanting to do yourself harm. Although this was probably a good thing, considering their lack of treatment methods and supervision, it still seems wrong on so many levels. But it gets better – when we were leaving, they demanded we sign a “Discharge” form, even though he was not admitted and we were there to admit him. Furthermore, they were not going to let us leave without signing the form. Can anyone spell k-i-d-n-a-p-p-i-n-g? After a lot of pounding on the door, someone finally let us out. Is this the kind of place anyone would want their child to be, expecting help?

Not once did we get a chance to speak to a lead doctor. Don\'t even know their name or who it was. Nurses were incredibly rude and didn\'t let us know about any progress or treatment plan. Mother came back the same even after staying in their care for a week. They detoxed her and restarted her usual treatment without letting us have her pill schedule after she was released and when I called to ask they said it was \"classified\". Completely unprofessional and horrible experience

Screw you, you should help kids by teaching them instead of hurting them emotionally and physically. Some kids were there for months and I didn\'t see any attempt by any workers to help. If 1 thing that you do isn\'t exactly perfect they give you a shot that knocks you out so you don\'t annoy them. While I was there I heard kids screaming in pain, and it still gives me nightmares to this day. Whatever you do, DO NOT LET ANYONE GO HERE!

So horrible!! Treat us bad and the staff are terribly rude!! Love to gossips about other patients and make us feel bad when we\'re already there to feel better. Very unprofessional and the living environment is horrible. Lots of sharp objects lay around and other patients picks them up and harm themselves. Really bad experience and I wouldn\'t recommend this sad excuse of a hospital to get help.
