The owner is a money hungry theif who takes advantage of sick women and could care less about the safety of the patients in the facility and will do absolutely nothing about security issues and theft. Costs 50 thousand a month and she wont contribute a dime to the facility. The pool is run down and full of algae. There are zero cameras inside and theft happens everyday. They ignore any general complaints. And Jaclyn never even comes to the facility like you are promised and pay for. She robs sick women so she can drive around in nice cars. Its disgusting. I wasted $150k and during my 3 months there I watched all the staff quit because they saw how corrupt it was as well.

Brookhaven was absolutely wonderful. The staff is very kind and professional, the therapy is extremely helpful, and I found it really helped me find balance and creativity in a busy life. PLEASE READ - FINANCIAL AND EMOTIONAL! I am an attorney and before I go in to my review - I should have known better than to sign the agreement and wire non-refundable funds in the amount of $49,000.00.BEFORE arriving to Brookhaven and assessing the facility. But, I am a mother who will go to the moon and back for my daughter who has suffered from anxiety and was asking for help. I thought I had done my due diligence. Brookhaven appeared to the be the perfect solution to my daughter's issues. It was not. We arrived on April 1st, 2017, Saturday late afternoon and we both knew it was not the right environment. We were both exhausted and rationalized our uneasy feeling on exhaustion. By Sunday afternoon, my daughter wanted to leave. By Tuesday afternoon, she was on her way home. I called the owner and never received a call back. I did receive a call back from the attorney. No refund. I just wanted a prorated refund. NO. The environment is not suited for all people and it was not a healthy environment for my daughter. Almost immediately, the routine appeared to be far more strict and severe than what we believed it would be. Very disappointed and would not recommend this facility to anyone.

The care I received while at Brookhaven was second to none. The owner, Jacqueline Dawes, along with every single member of the staff, treats her clients like family from the moment they step foot on the property . From the pink ladies (housekeeping) to the grounds crew, from the cooking staff to the nurses, from the secretaries to business administration, from the doctors to the therapists, every employee at Brookhaven made me feel welcome and completely at home. Brookhaven Retreat provided me with the care I needed to get through a difficult time in my life. The clinicians provided me with knowledge and skills that have proven invaluable for my well being and recovery. I gained the tools necessary to rebuild my life and transform into the woman I am today who holds her head high. I recommend no other place for a woman to grow into her own than Brookhaven Retreat.

I remember looking for mental health treatment facilities in the United States a little more than a year ago, wondering what I was looking for and how I would know when I found it. I then stumbled across the website for Brookhaven Retreat and found myself going back to it over and over again. I must have made a hundred phone calls to the intake coordinator, yet never felt like I was being a bother or troublesome to them in any way. I decided last year that I would go to Brookhaven. I had a problem with mental health and I needed help. I didn't figure it would take me 90 days to get to the level of recovery I was looking for, but it did and that's okay. I have read other reviews on different websites stating the treatment and outcomes of treatment were great but the person/people writing the review did not think the money for the treatment was fair. It was expensive, no doubt. It is also self-pay, part of which allows it to run the way it does. Would I have rather the treatment be free?? No. I strongly believe that an individual must be responsible for their treatment both going through the prgram and paying for it, in order to truly appreciate what it has to offer. I felt like at Brookhaven Retreat, more than any other facility I looked at, I was paying for the quality programming and staff rather than for "fun in the sun." In the end I did pay for 90 days and realize that with that amount of money I could have payed for a house in case among other things, but to me, there is no price I can put on being mentally well. Jacqueline and staff have developed a program that works if you put the effort into it. A house can burn down, a car can crash. My mental health is somethingthat cannot be taken away from me and for that I am forever grateful for Brookhaven Retreat and the program it offers.
