Cumberland Heights is a wonderful place. I checked in 9-10-15 and today I am 13 months sober. Everyone that works there is so loving and kind. I went in a broken woman and left a very different person. They didn\'t just sober me up. They helped me begin to heal spiritually, physically, and mentally. Cumberland Heights introduced me to the program and fellowship that saved my life. I was a hopeless drug addict waiting to die and Cumberland Heights showed that another way of life was possible. The alumni connections were invaluable. On the weekends, alumni in recovery return to campus to share their experience, strength, and hope and bring back a taste of life and recovery in the real world, outside of treatment. I was able to recognize people that had been where I was and knew exactly the pain and misery of active addiction. It inspired me to see how they had changed their lives and to see them laughing and having fun. It showed me that recovery was possible and that this way of life was also a life a joy. Amazing place but it\'s sucks when you\'re kicked out because you can\'t physically wear a bra, or you\'re completely singled out for all the wrong reasons and under the scope to where they let you go for things that people were also doing. Even when someone says \"there\'s no hope her(me)\" when the room is filled with paitents and FACULTY but no one says a word except some paitents who thought it was wrong. But everyone gains weight when they are getting sober so clothes became tighter. Keep that in mind when you go or they\'ll scrutinize you for it. It a great place great programs helped me a lot but my whole attitude changed when I realized I was under radar for pretty much no reason. So I began just slacking, I guess yu could say. But the nurses are amazing and kind just all around awesome.

My father was James Jernigan Sanders Jr. Cumberland Heights saved his life!! He was a great man and served as a honorary member! He too saved people and I know that alcohol can destroy a family! He had so many regrets but I did live through this horrible addictive disease! His addiction started when he was young man in World War 11 and sacrificed his life for everyone else! I remember he told me that being a Captain also meant they could get any alcohol any time! His platoon didn\'t really care about the effects of drinking and what the after effects would be because they never knew from one day to the next if they would even be alive to see the next day! I am so very proud that he did turn his life around! I miss him everyday and I had told him that I was going to get his 39th year chip for him! He passed away before I could give it to him! Don\'t get your hopes up if youre out-of-state. I don\'t know what they\'re pulling at, except perhaps \"picking\" their populations to get better better end-results. It is not ethical to turn someone down in crisis and instead refer to an \"educational consultant.\" Perhaps they\'re saving the beds for kids in their own state, But be upfront about it, and for heavens sake, an educational consultant? Tried to do the IOP program though CH and when I was finished with my 18 sessions I was not discharged and my insurance company has taken the brunt of it. Called my counselor MULTIPLE times in cool springs. No reply to email or phone vm follow up. Was \"not\" discharged even though I was supposed to be. Was lied too from the beginning. I attended treatment for 42 days in Jacksonville, FL and immediately attended IOP. Frustrated my insurance company was given the run around and paying for sessions I specifically told I would not need
