I was a client at this location when it was New Life Lodge in 2008. I\'ve been in Recovery ever since. If someone wants to get sober they can if their willing to try something different in their life. I\'ve volunteered at Mirror Lake Recovery Center ever since the new owners took over the center. This Recovery Center offers a comprehensive approach to the treatment of alcoholism and addiction. They attack the diseases of alcoholism and addiction by offering faith based along with 12 step programs. The staff is trained in all the lastest discoveries and treatments for this devastating disease. There are some great people working there that know what their doing in a loving and caring way. It\'s a beautiful campus in the rolling hills of middle Tennessee. If you want to get sober and have the kind of life you deserve to live Mirror Lake is a great place to start!! I like to call it Miracle Lake because I\'ve seen first hand how it has changed people\'s lives. If you\'ve read bad reviews on this site I believe that\'s because those people didn\'t try hard enough or put enough effort into their own Recovery. Like I said I was here in 2008 and Mirror Lake Recovery Center is better than ever. Getting sober is hard work and like anything in life you\'re gonna get out of it what you\'re willing to put in to it. I highly recommend it.

I gave it 4 stars because the place has a lot of potential but definitely needs some improvements, mainly more staff. I will say this, this place saved my life and it saves many others as well. I will be honest in my review and note the good and the not so good. First the good, the campus and buildings are pretty well kept, nice looking. Outside of recovery related activities, you can go fishing, work out in the gym, watch tv, play basketball, they have board games in the lodge, smoke in designated areas and they will allow you to bring your musical instrument if you play one. You\'ll start off in the medical feeling detox building where you will see a doctor, counselor etc.. every day until you\'re done detoxing. Make sure you\'re honest about the drugs you have been taking and the amounts, your detox will go a lot better. If you lie they will know by your urine and blood tests so just be up front from the beginning. The bad. Staff/Counselors are late way too often to groups. If you are supposed to start a group at 10am, start at 10am not 10:20 or 10:30. This really got on my nerves because I was always where I was supposed to be and on time and the staff should do the same but they don\'t. They let the women and men talk which is usually a bad idea. I have been in treatment other places and women and men weren\'t allowed to talk to each other. They don\'t always do the greatest job at this aspect. They need to do more gender specific stuff because it just gets people off track in a hurry and suddenly they are focusing all their attention on another person to fix them, completing ignoring what got them in rehab in the first place. There were people having sex. Also, a guy brought some Ice in and got some people high. This patient had left AMA a week earlier to go get high, came back, on purpose with drugs because he thought it was cool. Of course then he got kicked out but they need to do a better job of searching people when they come in. Didn\'t get to go to any outside AA/NA meetings which that needs to change. This stuff is typical of rehab though. Overall, If you want to get better this place has some great things to offer and the staff are incredibly dedicated. I stayed focused on my recovery but some of things they offer are.... EMDR therapy for chronic pain and trauma. A faith based recovery track if you prefer, good meditation sessions, good AA/NA meetings brought in from outside, acupuncture therapy and a karaoke night on Saturday. They have a cigarette machine that sells smokes and dip. They have a little store that opens twice a day as well with an ATM and things you can buy. The only reason it doesn\'t get 5 stars is because it\'s under staffed. They have a great alumni association these days and I do something out there at least one a month to give back, since this place saved my life.

From the detox facility, to the campus, the staff, the counselors, the programs and the FOOD were nothing short of amazing. I found peace and a spirit that moves through that place. All the resources are available for anyone struggling to find treatment custom to their addiction(s). I formed some life long relationships here that help keep me sober today. I give credit to mirror lake in helping me begin a life of sobriety that I walk with everyday for 2 years now, (one day at a time) and I am beyond grateful. I will return to give my story of hope and gratitude for years to come. I really was in bad shape when I checked into Mirror Lake and the staff and clients there welcomed me with open arms. I’ve read some of the reviews on here and the bottom line is if you’re at a rehab and you not completely done with your old way of living you will pick the place apart and give yourself every “reason” to leave. All in all, yea the food wasn’t from a five star chef and they could be a little more organized and well staffed, but all of the clients there who were actively seeking a solution to the problem of alcoholism or drug addiction you can without a doubt find it at Mirror Lake. I owe this place for saving my life, without the wonderful staff, Bob, Tom, Steve, Brian, Amy, Rose, Courtney (I love all you guys and whoever I left out sorry) I couldn’t have the life I’m enjoying today. My father and brother both have completed treatment at this facility and they both have double digit years sober, I’m a little more stubborn in my ways but I’m well on my way with 8 months sober, I would highly recommend for any of my family or friends to enter treatment at this facility.

This place is TERRIBLE. I have a family member that was accepting it was time to get help with addiction. We looked through places and thought this one sounded nice and had a good rating. WRONG. He has been there for 4 days and we are already packing the stuff to bring home and find something better. The buildings are run down, falling apart, bugs everywhere, food is gross and most of the staff (not all) is very rude. He was sent to the hospital by ambulance from here and not once did we receive a phone call saying he was sent there. We found out from him calling us. When I called to ask why that was the lady talking to me was extremely rude and not helpful in anyway. He never went back that night to mirror lakes and not one time did someone call and ask about him or try and get him back to the facility. If he is a patient there shouldn’t that be a thing?! Instead he’s sleeping in the lobby of the hospital waiting on a ride to go get his stuff and go home. Still no talk from anyone at mirror lakes. If this is how they treat their patients I feel bad for all of them and hope the staff realize these people are there for help and they need to be caring and considerate of that. I would not recommend this place to anyone that is in need of help. What a great resource for people that need it, I hope this place can turn it around and help like they need to because it truly does change peoples lives.

Well unlike most people on here I went to New Life Lodge about 10 years ago. I\'ve been to the place up the street in Nashville that\'s like a resort and the only thing better was the food. Don\'t waste your money or sobriety on CH. It\'s not as nice or pretty but they actually focus on you and your program at NLL. I miss the place if that tells you anything?

PLEASE PLEASE LISTEN!!!!!!!! Do not admit yourself to this facility. Everything is wrong about it. It is understaffed with people who are not in recovery, incompetent, and downright mean. Don\'t come hungry. You will starve here. I had to eat junk food from the vending machines to feel filled. The food is horrible with very small portions and no seconds. The med line is a complete mess. I have waited up to 70 minutes for my meds with a half hour as the norm. You will be locked out of your cabin all day. Basically all you do there is sleep. 4 to a room and if you get snorers...well you know. The so called lodge is pretty much locked all day so you can\'t even sit down and relax if you have a few moments. There is so much drama among the clients, ambulances coming daily, a machine that does not work because all the parts are broken. I have been to double digit rehabs and this one is by far the worst. On a positive note, I did have 2 counselors who really helped me.

I had the unpleasant experience of working at this wretched horrible place. It is chronically UNDERSTAFFED, unethical and potentially dangerous. I feel sorry for anyone who goes there for help. Especially if they have health issues unrelated to their addiction. After seeing first hand what happens behind the scenes, I would recommend going elsewhere if you want help.

This is an amazing facility. The sheer volume of resources they provide is astounding. You can do a faith based program, a traditional AA/NA program, they psycho-educational classes, an Acupuncture Detox program, anger management, co-occurring classes, trauma classes and two EMDR therapists just to mention a few. They have a great staff who really care about the care of the clients. I highly recommend this place for anyone struggling with addiction

I checked in today for detox and checked right back out. Terrible facility. 4 beds in the room I was going in. Community bathroom and you have to get water from a community water fountain (no bottled water). The nurses were cursing. You have to go to a window to get your meds. Go the hallway to get your vitals. The room they tried to put me in I could reach over and touch the neighbors bed. The blinds were broken and the lamp next to my bed had no light bulb or shade. Dinner was cold hamburger helper with peas (very small portion) and a warm gatorade. Do not waste your time here.

My son in law stayed twice this year. The techs are verbally abusive, specifically Shannon and Allison. The took his medication and refused to give it back when he left. There are patients having intimate relations everywhere, and drugs are smuggled in. This place should be investigated for insurance fraud and negligence.

This place changed my life. My husband applied for a job there. They knew his background which is what was on the background check. They told him to put in his 2 weeks notice at his previous job. Then, the day before he was supposed to start, they called and said they couldn\'t hire him because of bad check charges from 13 years ago. Now, he is without a job. Definitely a life changing experience.

I recently went to Mirror Lake for alcohol treatment. I have been to other treatment facilities and this one is excellent. The admissions staff was very thorough and prompt getting me checked in. The program is very in-depth and extensive regarding the topics and types of treatment options available to the clients. The medical staff was very helpful and attentive to working with me. The Counselors are very knowledgeable and caring to every client, giving any and all help they can to get clients on the path of a solid and stable recovery. I felt at home and comfortable at Mirror Lake, the facility is beautiful and give a pure vibe of peacefulness. The food is good and plentiful, never the same old stuff. This place helped me find the person I want to be in life, free of Alcohol and living a life of sobriety that I can enjoy. I would also like to thank Mr. Grady for all his time and work to help those in need, What a great man. Thank you Mirror Lake!!!

My maiden review seems 2 have vanished. (I’m as perplexed as you are.) Here’s the sequel; The therapists are great- they really care. The art “teacher” needs to... i dunno, man, do something different in regard to people skills- dramatically different. The medical place is 99% a joke- not a funny one. The huge guy entitled “Cheyenne”, who “monitors” a cabin, is/was a bully. He also slept while he was paid to be awake. I have video of this (i had a phone for 22 days i was there-not allowed, of course (I’m ever tha rebel...heh). All in all- financial services were good- therapy was good... not a bad place, actually.

There are good and bad things to say about this facility!!! The good: they really do give you the basics of recovery and the strategies to stay clean! They give you the tools and knowledge to help yourself! I was finally properly diagnosed!!! The bad: it was almost impossible to talk to the doctor! I follow a strict diet and while the salad bar is great they refused to meet my nutritional needs. As a duel diagnosis facility yhey could improve! But it is what you make it!!! This was my first rehab and i have nothing to compare it to. But besides some petty bs it was good!!! The staff is amazing tho!!!

This place is an amazing treatment center. It has detox, inpatient and PHP levels of care with a great staff and awesome programming. It has a traditional AA/NA track, a faith-based track, and a psycho-educational track as well. They have anger management groups, co-occurring groups, trauma groups with two EMDR therapists. It has yoga classes as well as Accu detox so there\'s something for everyone.

I am happy to read the reviews that done a life change to people but unfortunately after and days my son was in there Nicholas green and I was called on Saturday to come to pick him up and take him to the doctor forward a knot underneath his arm after returning no one check me in check me out to see who my son was with Sunday I got a call saying he had a prescription for Lortab 5 for pain containing Key & Peele he took two for the pain I took the other home and flush them down the commode this was from a doctor nevertheless he was asked to go back through detox again adding days which he didn't need and I guess the disappointing part is why didn't they take him to the clinic look after him look after the pain pills and he would still be on with his rehab on with his life like most of the reviews that I've read bottom-line despos piss poor management

My wife was there all of three days and she had to ama because they gave her blood clots and then never took care of her sent her to Dickson hospital and they did nothing but look and say yes she had 4 blood clots but because she was at mirrior lake they would not touch her. They sent her back to the facility the next morning and she had to leave to come home to get help. Covid is so bad there they have a cabin just for the ones who have covid but if they get real bad they sent them down to the detoxification center where all the people where and are very vulnerable to contract covid-19 they did not care they have no masks no cleaning supplies no ppes not hand sanitizer any where my wife had to wash her hands 24/7 and she may have it as well. She was sexually harassed and she was touched on by men when she had told them not to do it and the staff there did nothing about it.

Where do I even begin?! Well upon arriving the lady was as cold as the meals are here!!! I can't speak for the men but as a woman's experience let me tell you I am tramatized to say the VERY LEAST! I came in after taking 4 grams of heroin (IV) daily for 6 years. After maybe 24 hours in detox I was told my insurance wasn't paying for me to detox any longer that I had to go to the "cabins" from now on. They lock you out of these tin trailers from 7am-730pm daily. I was still detoxing along with about 15 other girls and was required to walk around this black hole in the heat for 12 hours! Better hope that you don't have to wing it like me because if you crap ur pants they ain't letting you in to change clothes or shower. I was informed that as a grown woman I should know by now when I'm going to have a bowel movement. When I had finally had enough of this so called treatment and demanded my things to leave the real fun started! They bring in this big redheaded guy named Tommy to intimidate you, humiliate you and bully you! He told me his bosses boss told him I couldn't rest or leave. When I asked what that person's name was I was told it was none of my business to either AND I QUOTE "get my stuff outta detox or get my shit outta the building and hit the road" as he towered over me so close I was making sure the cameras could see!!!! Whenever you don't do what the female staff tells you to do they bring in the goon Tommy to scare you into it. More than 1 girl told me to do what they say, it's not worth what's next!!!! They kept meds from any girl that made noise in the wrong way, they kept food from me for not being "a team player"! I was told after last call for women's dinner I'd have to wait! The staff have obvious sexual relationships with each other, one girl has been there 4 months and is 6 weeks pregnant! They brought in an ultrasound machine for her! I saw it myself. I could go on and on but bottom line is that if you care about ur sobriety or ur loved ones ... Find somewhere else! I've gotten an attorney and stopped insurance on them, as well as filed a formal complaint with the state, the board and my insurance company! I will NEVER be the same! Oh and just a little heads up if you think ur gonna leave at will.... Haha! No! They have you sign away that right at the door and call the cops on you for a welfare check as soon as ur not in their care any longer. That's normally at the end of the driveway they take you down in a golf cart to a waiting police officer! I don't care if it takes me years to stop them from doing this to hundreds of others! More reason to maintain my sobriety so someone listens to the verbal assault, the emotional and mental games they play for fun (you'll see it's a point system) or the physical harm they are responsible for! Scaring a girl into backing herself off a porch isn't HER fault for the snapped tendon!

1st off don't go there! 2nd off if ur family is there go get them NOW!!! They say they have yogs, EDMR, arts and crafts and all this. They don't have any of that. Unless you call the photocopied coloring book pages in detox arts and crafts!! They are abusive in every sense of the word! I saw a poor young lady bullied by a man at least a foot and a half taller than her and when she ran to her room crying he and the other so called staff member laughed, high fived and said that she won't finish the program anyway and how these junkie whores run to rehab when they can't go anywhere else. This was a young mother!!!! I agree with the earlier post about Tommy! The reddish beard tall guy.... I watched as he ran up real fast on a girl that was having a panic attack outside of her area or whatever. They kept yelling at her to go in her room and the yelling made the attack worse! Well the guy Tommy I guess had enough and rushed her like a ball player and told her she didn't want what comes next! The women are terrified, the men are doped up and the staff sits back and gets fat off all of it. They only have 25 beds for women to detox and 25 beds for men to detox! They heard them out of detox to get paid for more to come through! So 50 detox beds but over 300 people!
