Let me begin by stating that I have a brain injury, and although I have a disability, my intellect is still intact. I worked at Threshold more then 15 years ago, in there Pennsylvania Department of Transportation(Penndot) department. I worked with two others E. & L. We performed simple algebra, packed heavy boxes wt brochures, & used a Penndot electronic mail label printing system, to ship those boxes to Penndot. I was paid about $3.50 an hour, and E. was paid about $3.00 an hour. I don't recall how much L. was paid, but he received the east amount. We were all doing ten to fifteen dollar an hour warehouse style work. I was told I should feel grateful, because up on the main floor, some workers only made pennies a day, working at piece rate. Occasionally when we were completely caught up, E., L. & I would work on that floor, and I still have paychecks too prove that the main floor was only slave labor. The work may have been easy, (envelope stuffing) for ex, but the money paid made this labor actually cheaper then using automated machinery. Many workers would spend there entire monthly paycheck on one value meal a a local fast food restaurant. I asked to leave, because I had decided to try and return to college. I reported to Social Security that I was no longer making the approximately $100 a week, or $400 a month, but Threshold refused to admit I was no longer working. It took almost 4 months of constant calls & visits, and at one point I had to threaten that I'd take legal action, to have them finally admit that I had left. Threshold is not a rehabilitation service. Few ever leave, because they break down a clients spirit. Those that do, are financial punished by there refusal to inform social security. Pure & simply they an extremely shady, and dishonest business. They exploit there employees, or 'clients,' as they refer to them. Most are severely intellectually disabled, and do not understand this. Despite there disabilities many are very proficient assembly line workers, and have other valuable skills as well. Unfortunately Threshold pay pay no-one an honest wage. They might have changed, but I highly doubt it. They are a business which gets away with paying a third or even 'much' less then other companies. They are easily able to remain open by using the guise of being a rehabilitation facility, and even get federal funding, to continue there exploitation. Why would they change? BTW 55 people saw the original review, and it received several likes. unfortunately when I visited it, my review had been taken down. I will keep checking in on my review, and every time it is taken down wt no explanation, it will be put it right back. My review is completely honest, & contains no vulgar language. Yes it is long, but you do not limit review size. Before my injury I went to college & learned how to write factually & it is what I can do best. Using it is the only defense I can give to those, who cannot speak for themselves, against the Threshold corporation.

A complete and total facade. They say that they help the handicap but they give them piece rate jobs. The piece rate jobs they give them their non-handicapped employees can't handle. They also don't live up to making reasonable accomodations for their employees!
