We delivered our baby girl here and I have to say I LOVED IT! The whole staff that was involved in our delivery (c-section) was excellent and personal. They took care of me the best way possible. I don't lie when I say I was ready to have another baby the next day because of how great my experience was!

I had an elective procedure, and a private surgeon met me to perform the procedure here. Everyone was great, until after my surgery. The aftercare nurses were disgustingly rude - it was appalling. I was in surgery for hours and the nurse was upset when I asked for Valium and for her help putting on my shoes. When I almost fell over trying to put on my shoes myself, the nurse said “are you f**king kidding me,” and sucked her teeth as she helped me to put on my shoes. As I was leaving, the two nurses were literally pointing at me and laughing. I’m not sure what was so funny about a woman who paid thousands to have elective surgery there. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to get surgery here - their small minded staff have been exposed to little to no diversity.

While the staff at the front desk could have smiled or been friendlier I was checked in right away and taken right back to a room. A nurse came in almost immediately after and was so sweet and listened to my complaints with genuine concern. The X-ray techs brought the equipment to my room to take x-rays from the bed and were also very kind and comforting. I saw two doctors and they were both patient and very nice, the one even came back when I had a few more questions.

5 star for the working staff at the hospital. But 0 star for the customer assistance over the phone. Called multiple times over the last month. Can't get a living soul to even try to pay my bill!

I got bit by a dog in 3 places the staff have been excellent during my stay! Food is pretty decent as well. They have been super friendly and attentive to my needs.Karen, Michel were my nurses and Ram was super friendly as well keep up the good work!

Every nurse in here has an attitude. Like I'm not paying thousands of dollars because of a procedure I need and the doctors here are good. I'm not sorry I asked for water and pain meds after surgery. I am sorry I came to the hospital. St. Clair is located in a suburb and they are charging to park in their garage. This isn't downtown and the rite aid across the street doesn't charge for parking so why do they. There are plenty of better hospitals in Pittsburgh go anywhere but here.

When I first went to there emergency room, I thought it was GREAT, but a month has gone by now sending me stuff about the bill???? It's a workmans comp case, send bill questions to my place of work, NOT me , I even said to the receptionist this was too easy!!!! I quess because I was not checked in correctly. So now that they are bothering me it's one star for them.

Usually great hospital to go to. However last night went in about 1230am with a severe sprained ankle. I had very bad swollen ankle, hobbled in wasnt offered a wheel chair, had to proceed to hobble into a room. Was never asked about my pain level, not offered any pain medication or ICE. The young woman couldnt figure out how to run my insurance that magically worked as we were leaving. Just a terrible expirence i think id rather drive the extra distance to a better hospital.

I must say the best hospital by far. Everyone waas just so nice didn't treat me the way Canonsbrug did they was just rudest and treat everyone as junkies. I will only go to st Clair, so much respect for them, never made me feel less of a person. They found what was wrong and helped me. All I can say is thank you and I appreciate the service, I will tell anyone to go there, they actually care.

I've had 2 babies here. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. The staff, horrible. I can't begin to tell you how many problems we went thru with the nurses alone. Then 4 years later my son needed tonsils taken out. Come to find out the same nurses who helped to deliver him would be the same ones taking care of him after his surgery. My son is literally traumatized. One nurse laid on top of him with all her weight and force fed the Tylenol down his throat. I was so upset he was crying and screaming. She then got frustrated because he kept saying he couldn't swallow so he spit up. She put her hand over his mouth to force him to swallow. Ever have your tonsils out? Pretty hard to swallow. Go to Children's for any of your child's needs

Reading some of the other reviews, those people must bring a lot of negative energy with them or are just generally miserable. Thank you's and a smile go a long way with nurses and doctors who do 12+ hour shifts, no problems for us!

Discharged me from outpatient surgery right after getting a shot of dilaudid 10 minutes prior. Developed severe nausea and vomiting in the parking lot! Later learned nurse should’ve kept me for at least an hour to observe for reactions and give anti nausea meds if necessary. Obviously they were more interested in getting rid of me to make room for the next patient! Won’t be returning there for any further surgeries.

The problem is certainly NOT the proficiency of each & every St. Clair Hospital employee = the problem is MORE getting each of these hospital employees to respect YOU as a patient!!! It's amazing how they can recite each and every rule from their employee handbook to enable them to tell you no when you ask for something, yet they will sit there and yell down the hall to their co-workers in the loudest Possible voice they have at any possible hour of the day or night, while you are expected to rest and get well!! In the middle of the night, another patients equipment might have an alarm sounding, yet watch and see if you are not the only one that can hear this?!? Now I know it is not like these nurses only have one patient to look after all night, but explain to me why the hell I have to use the call button to get the nurse into my room to make him or her aware of this alarm going off and beg them to silence it so I can go back to sleep?!? This is just one incident of overwhelming noise that I am referring to. Most of the utility carts seem to have solid rubber Wheels instead of inflatable Wheels that would keep them silent as they roll down the hall, instead it literally sounds like a freight train coming down the hall and if you've ever been in inpatient here = you know exactly what I am referring to. "Most" employees go out of their way to perform their duties proficiently as well as efficiently, but that CERTAINLY doesn't mean that there aren't a few employees that have simply gained seniority due to the length of time they've spent as an employee here! For another example, this place actually has a dietitian that inspects the meal trays before they are sent to the patient. When you have a patient that recently had a heart attack, as well as a complete list of other health ailments, it seems rather pathetic to me to send that patient one English muffin and two slices of ham (equalling HALF/ 1000 mg of the patients allowable sodium intake for the ENTIRE DAY), yet you refuse to send that patient a packet of butter substitute for their English muffin, but THEY'RE the professionals, right?!? I know these things might "seem" petty, but when you've spent 2 months under a Hospital's roof = they are truly not! Now don't go comparing apples to oranges, because I also know first hand just how much worse Jefferson Hospital actually is compared, but I have recorded a couple of videos that I intend to post on YouTube to show everyone just how nosey this Hospital actually is at 3 a.m. and I am willing to bet that a majority of you will be stunned! St Clair DID cure my ailment = I'll give them that!!! Peace!

I received a bill for over 920 dollars for a simple stress test of which I had to pay over 430 cash. When I wrote them on September 20th, 2018, asking for an explanation of such an expensive charge for a common low tech test I received no response. St. Clair is a not for profit entity that benefits from tax breaks that cleared over 55 million dollars profit in 2017. One has to conclude that one of the ways they are getting the money to expand their facilities is by gouging current patients.

Avoid this hospital AT ALL COSTS. My sister was admitted a few days ago for severe dehydration and starvation from chronic vomiting and they gave her an antipsychotic drug to treat her nausea. Today, she began to have parkinson-like muscle spasms and contortions of her extremities. Three nurses were called in repeatedly over the course of 6 hours, and they all scratched their heads and said “hmm, that’s weird!”, the doctor was apparently informed of these symptoms and did not come in until 8 hours after the initial symptoms. It turns out she had a severe (but common) reaction to the drug they have been giving her, and delayed treatment can cause irreversible damage. This hospital is negligent.
