At first I was hesitant to seek help, but I’m glad I did. This place literally changed my life for the better when I was spiraling out of control. The staff is great but the folks that really helped me to push through was Heather and Scott. I cried my first day out of intake and didn’t want to finish, but Heather encouraged me to stick with it and promised it would get better and it did. She’s genuinely cares and will do everything in her power to make sure you have resources you need to succeed. Definitely say she’s the best nurse I’ve come in contact with. Scott is an awesome awesome therapist, he makes you feel very comfortable and at the same time addresses your issues. He’s very down to earth, funny and cares deeply about his work. They helped to teach coping skills and how to deal with challenges that happen in life. Miss Tina was a fantastic Therapist and helped our family understand where we can improve our communications. Mold in bathing area. Bill was twice as much as quoted. mental patients were in with addiction/detox patients. The staff was obviously overwhelmed. Back to billing. Dr. that saw me for no more than 10 mins billed for 50 mins . Went there on my own, and then forced to stay an extra day.

I cannot in good conscience recommend their inpatient detox program to anyone. My husband went there voluntarily for their "free" assessment, and from the get go, things were off. They told him it was $4500 without insurance, and that he could leave on Monday- this was a Thursday night. They also did not tell him all of the lab work and time with the doctor would be additional charges. There was a woman who came in and yelled at him and told him he couldn't leave because they were liable before he even signed anything. They weren't going to let him go out to his truck for anything and they took his phone just for the assessment. But, he wanted to get help, so even though they made him uncomfortable he decided to stay. Things went downhill from there -- he was housed with psychiatric patients (he was not told this during the assessment) so they took his phone, shoe strings, belt, etc. He said the staff was disorganized and that they spent the majority of time handling psychiatric patients. One patient was running around urinating in a cup and trying to pour it on people. They told him he would meet with a dietitian, but after 36 hours, still no meeting. He had to keep complaining and I had to call and talk to a nurse to get a supervisor involved to get him the correct food. They would not let me drop off any prepackaged food to him. Then it still wasn't 100% straightened out until Sunday. There was black mold in his shower that he reported multiple times and was never addressed. They were not doing anything to provide social distancing and wouldn't let him go outside during their free times, only a few times a day for 10 minutes so people could smoke. On Saturday they started telling him they didn't know when he would be released. He showed them paperwork where it said he could sign out and they told him he had to meet with a psychiatrist for that, who of course wasn't there. They even told him he would have to go to court and get a judge's order to be released. They have added a huge amount of stress and anxiety for him (and for me). His few meetings with a psychiatrist were just the doctor running through his checklist so he could move on to the next person, and the diagnosis in his reports lists in quotes things that my husband didn't say. But they didn't have any trouble billing our insurance for a 50 minute session and 2-25 minute sessions. Also, the 2nd and 3rd sessions are not documented in his medical records that we requested after his release. He asked many times during his stay for copies of the papers he signed for admission, and we still have never been given copies. I called and left a message for the billing department while he was still inpatient and no one ever returned my call. They didn't release him on Monday like they had agreed, they held him until Tuesday with no cause. They billed our insurance $8400-for a full day Thursday (his assessment didn't start until 6pm), Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon (days they held him against his wishes and longer than they agreed to). We also received $550 in bills for lab work and $545 bill from the psychiatrist. We have had to continuously call about the billing and other issues that took place. They have done nothing to address either- they don't care. The billing department even told us again their cash price is $850/day, but said they "didn't know what to tell us" about the amount he was quoted. The Quality Control manager did call back once, but did nothing to address the concerns. We even spoke to the CFO who said they always bill insurance more than their cash price, so even with our insurer's contracted "discount" rate, we will owe more than their cash price and more than they quoted. The CFO made no effort to work with us and offered no apology for anything that happened. She also told my husband that we can’t pay the cash price now since they submitted it to insurance. This seems to be their routine practice and no one holds them accountable, so they continue to get away with it. Their practices are unethical at best and they are only interested in how much money they are getting, not in the patient's well-being at their facility or honoring what their staff tells you.

I was in Beckett Springs for 4 nights and I want to detail my experience there to keep anyone else from going through the trauma I experienced. You WILL be held against your will and YOU WILL NOT BE SAFE. I went in to Beckett in order to switch meds safely because a new antidepressant was causing severe depression and intrusive thoughts. I made it clear from the beginning that I had no intent or plan to hurt myself - I just wanted help transitioning to a new medication that would hopefully work better. When I met with the assessor, I asked if I did inpatient, would I be able to leave if the place was not a good fit for me. She told me that I could sign an AMA (against medical advice) and be out as long as a doctor was present. Remember this as this is important, and NOT TRUE. I did my intake processing in the detox wing. I was already becoming nervous as a large gentleman started yelling repeatedly in the face of a RN at the nurses station I was sitting at. I assumed that my wing would be less aggressive due to people not going through withdrawal, but I was so very wrong. When I was brought into the mental health wing, I quickly realized that Beckett does not separate patients by high and low acuity. A man was yelling at the nurses saying that he was suicidal, and that, “I’m going to kill myself, and if I can’t, I’m going to kill someone else”. One PCA egged him on when he said he’s a criminal and he’s done it before, by responding “Oh yeah you’re such a criminal”. He was allowed to go on for at least 30 minutes throwing things, slamming doors, and yelling out threatening statements. I hid in my room crying because I couldn’t believe what I had gotten myself into. He was at no point restrained, only given a sedative after a lot of convincing, and was not removed from the wing for the rest of my stay. I was told by the assessor that the average stay in the mental health wing is 3-5 days. I started talking to patients in the wing my first night and realized that all had been kept for over a week. Many said that the doctors would give them X day for discharge, and then repeatedly push it back. One woman has been in there for almost 50 days with no plan of discharge. I talked to several individuals that were as high functioning as me, and they said they’ve felt fine for a week and still have no discharge in sight. One mentioned that she only got a discharge date when she told the financial coordinator that she couldn’t afford to pay for her stay. It honestly seems like Beckett is here to get as much insurance money out of you as possible. I did not sleep well my first night as one patient had told me that another patient had entered his room while he was sleeping. I told my RN that I did not feel safe considering what had happened hours earlier, but she told me to bring it up with my therapist the next day. I want to make it clear that their only solution when you feel unsafe is to transfer you to another wing. Groups were great to kill time but not beneficial if you paid attention in high school health. In the morning you came up with a goal for your day - most of us put getting out of there, of course. In recreation group we played nutrition jeopardy - fun, but the random trivia tidbits weren’t exactly educational. In the first process group we talked about how we were doing that day - I used it as a chance to express my concerns for myself and others, and was always met with the same answer. They will say that everyone is safe because the staff are trained - but you will see that this is obviously not the case due to short staffing. Second process group was focused on a specific topic, like how to speak assertively or how to set personal goals. I thought I would be getting help with topics such as anxiety or depression, but that is not the case. Music therapy is another great distraction - talking about what songs mean to you - but again these are things people could do for free elsewhere. The food situation at Beckett is edible at best. Think school cafeteria food with none of the selection. They have a set meal for each part of the day and if you don’t like what’s being offered, you can have a turkey and cheese sandwich or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Going to the cafeteria is a privilege and if you lose it, you eat whatever is brought back to you. Luckily snacks are offered between meals or I would have been very hungry throughout my time there. After group therapies, you have nothing else to do. That means from around 5pm to bedtime, patients were left to watch TV or color. There were some books on the unit, luckily, but there were no board games or cards. Now here comes the negligence - I witnessed multiple patients that were fall risks not being monitored, and therefore several people fell. My first roommate came in lucid and on a walker. She told me she was given trazodone three times a day - a sleep aid - and she turned into a mumbling woman I didn’t recognize. She fell in the main area and hit her head because of the effects of her drugs, so she was put into a wheelchair. Patients that are fall risks normally have someone with them at all times in other hospitals, but here they are given a countertop bell you could see at a hotel. My third day I walked in to her laying on the ground after falling out of bed because she was too drugged up to realize where her bell was to call for help. She said she hit her head again, and it took them half the day until they sent her to the hospital to get looked at. Another gentleman was admitted even though they didn’t have a room for him, so he was kept in a recliner in the hallway. He did not have a room for several days! I did not see him rotated to make sure he didn’t develop bed sores. He was able to get up and wander around over five times, and the patients often had to be the ones to notify the staff that he was up DESPITE HIM BEING DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE NURSES STATION. At one point two staff couldn’t convince him to sit down, so they abandoned him and went back to work, leaving patients to make sure he didn’t fall. Depending on what patients are at Beckett Springs YOU WILL NOT BE SAFE. A large gentleman came in on my third day, and the fact that they had someone with him at all times demonstrated that they knew he was either a threat to himself or someone else. That night, he was left unattended. He pulled out his penis and sexually harassed one woman, and then was able to ENTER two women’s room and sexually harass them and NO ONE NOTICED. One of the women was able to get out and get someone to remove him. The woman that was flashed wanted to talk to a therapist about what had just happened to her, but was denied for over 12 hours. She also wanted to press charges and was denied. When she said she was going to call the police herself, she was threatened with losing her phone privileges. This man had looked me in the eyes and licked his lips, so I was repeatedly crying after the events. Staff that overheard me talking to my husband about it rolled their eyes. I was again told in group that I was safe, but that is obviously false as this was allowed to happen to three women. The woman that was flashed was allowed to transfer to another unit, but nothing happened to the man besides getting a sitter again. Now for AMA. I was told that I wouldn’t be discharged for several days, so I wanted to sign myself out because I did not feel safe. I was then told that I would be put on a 24 hour hold if I signed, in order to determine if I was safe to leave. This 24 hours could actually extend to 72 hours per their paperwork. I was also told that signing AMA would mean that my insurance would not have to cover my time there, which is easily over 10k a day. I was essentially stuck there until they decided to discharge me, and from talking to others, that would be when my insurance ran out. I was NEVER told ANY of this when I signed myself in, and I never would have gone in had I known. The only reason why I was out as quickly as I was was due to my husband and I threatening to get a lawyer to get me out. Please do not send anyone to this place. Any local hospital would be far better and safer.

Only go here if you really need to and cannot find another place to go. My experience was horrible, but they did keep me safe from myself. That being said the staff were very irritable, unfriendly, and poorly trained. They overact very poorly to any sign of trouble in a patient. Often they triggered me and made me feel significantly worse. I was not the only one who had this issue while I was there. There is also a distinct lack of programming during the day. Long periods of nothingness are not good for people who are suffering and they would often cancel many of the good activities because they didn't feel like doing them. Lastly, they violated at least 3 of my patients' rights and refused to provide me with a patient rights advocate for a whole day because it was the weekend and they were too lazy to come up with one, even though they are legally required to. When I finally got one she was helpful in getting me released from treatment, but after I was out she ignored all of the rights violations and complaints that I lodged. TLDR; Don't go there, there are much better alternatives.

Highly recommend you do not attend this facility. I received a number of surprise bills in the mail, months after I paid thousands of dollars for just 2 days of outpatient services. I was in a longer-term program, and chose not to come back after day 2 due to the issues at this facility. While I was at Beckett, they did not have enough staff to provide care for their clients. We were provided a strict schedule for therapies throughout the day, but the staff did not provide the promised services. The staff at Beckett had us wait in the lobby area for long periods before and after therapy. I only received roughly half of the in-therapy time promised - the rest I sat waiting in the lobby. While in therapy, the staff did not maintain patient confidentiality. They allowed cell phones in areas where this was not permitted, including allowing cell phone use during the middle of group therapy. Additionally, various clients were permitted to come and go from the group therapy areas, and interrupt class by talking with others; bringing in prohibited items into the therapy area; and engaging in cell phone use. Client safety was not maintained as the staff did not enforce the prohibited items list in the various secure areas of the building. Clients were admitted to group classes that were not stable enough to be a part of group. A therapist allowed this to go on a majority of the day, and began arguing and yelling at the client. This escalated into the therapist and the client in a full-blown yelling match, and while this happened, we lost a significant portion of therapy time. The client was kicked out of services, and upon finally resuming class-time, the lead therapist made several inappropriate comments to the larger group about that client such as "he's not cut out for therapy"; "he has some serious problems", etc. It's highly frustrating that this place cannot maintain basic client confidentiality and safety, and that they practice unfair and unclear billing practices, and that they are not held accountable for their actions. I have called several times to resolve this bill issues, and they do get resolved over the phone, only to receive another surprise bill in the mail again. This cycle has been happening for 9 months now.
