My adopted daughter was admitted to this "Ranch" for behaviors relating to Reactive Attachment Disorder- which we had experienced for 12 years. The so-called professionals there know NOTHING about this disorder. We agreed ahead of time that my daughter would attend counseling without me since we thought it might be better due to her lack of attachment. I was constantly badgered to be at counseling even though this was a pre-agreement. Even when I went to their so-called "counseling" involving the young inexperienced counselor - my daughter wasn't even present. My daughter looked at this place as some kind of country club. While it is nice to have activities, my child refused to come home and work on "attachment" due the constant activities. For other deprived children, this might be something positive, but for someone with an attachment disorder- it was a form of control. The response from the inexperienced woman -Katelyn Hansen- was "well, we can't make her come home.". "We can't make her see you", etc. "We can't make her (fill in the blank) I was then accused by Katelyn Hansen of not participating in my daughter's treatment, not visiting and cutting visits short!! I visited every single Saturday". I also called every single day initially. Bottom line- This place is full of completely young and inexperienced workers with only a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology (Katelyn Hansen ) who know nothing about the children they are "treating" . Katelyn Hansen was a ROBOT. When I asked her question verbally or thru an email, her responses were as if they were rehearsed. No independent thinking there. She then accused me of being "vulgar". Not only are the people working there totally inexperienced, they also lie. She could not produce any email or phone log of me being "vulgar". I have been working with an adopted child since she and most of the others there were in elementary school. They made my daughter massively worse. They were condescending and tried to brainwash my daughter with religious dogma. Stay far away from this place with your child.
