I've been a patient here for many years. But just recently the receptionist. Have been very lacks in their job. They forgot to call the doctor or therapist your waiting for them or they double book an appointment and I went down their for nothing. Thankfully both those receiptionists have left or got fired. The new ones their I hope are better trained.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the New York State Trooper John Keough for rendering aid to my brother in law yesterday on Broadway when he was found with no pulse in his car. His actions and quick thinking gave my brother in law Daren a fighting chance upon his arrival at Ellis Hospitals Emergency Room. I would also like to thank any members of the Schenectady Fire Department that responded to his call and rendered CPR and Advanced Life Support to him. Also thanks to the ambulance crew that transported him to the hospital. Lastly I would like to thank all of the Ellis Hospital Doctors, Emergency Room and ICU staff for their dedicated and tireless efforts in attempting to save my brother in law for the last 2 days. Their kindness and compassion towards me and my family during this most difficult time was a source of strength for me. I especially want to thank my dear friend Randi Wanninger Zier who is an ICU nurse at Ellis. I love you Randi, thank you so much for your support. If any one on my friends list know any of these folks, please tell them how much I appreciate their efforts and give them a hug from me. As a volunteer first responder my self, I know how hard they work and how difficult a task it is that they do every day for us.

Had to bring a friend to Ellis ER last night for a knee injury. When we got into the waiting room of the ER we discovered it would be a 2-3 hour wait before they would even take her name. We got there at 9pm and some people had been waiting to give their name since 6pm. So we figured it would be hours before she even would be seen. The so called nurse that was behind the "check-in" counter was rude and nasty. Half the time she wasn't there, no signs to guide people and the place is so disorganized. At least with the old ER, you could to a window, give your name and insurance information and then someone would call you in to for triage. With the new ER there is none of this. We ended up leaving and driving to Albany Memorial Hospital. Well worth the drive. We got to the ER and her name was taken, she was given an ice pack for her knee and treated as human being. When she needed something to drink because of sugar issues she was given orange juice right away. The place was crowed but within an hour my friend was in a room, vitals taken, a doctor was in to see her, xrays were done and medication was given. She was given additional juice and crackers to help he with sugar issues. Most important, my friend was treated with respect. Ellis Hospital could have cared less about any of those people waiting to be seen. I will never go to that hospital again. Ellis is a sad excuse for a hospital. No wonder so many people die there, you're never seen.

Very angry at this place I took my daughter there and we were treated like crap . It was a bad dr he didn't care that my daughter was in so much pain ..he said he couldn't help her because it was Lyme disease and go she her dr for it but they we not doing any thing for it at the time . Let me tell you I will go everyday to a different dr if I have to .i would like you dr out there to treat everyone's kids as if they were yours .

Beware of the insurance "bait and switch" . I went for urgent care, that is after all the name of this facebook page and I did not need an ER visit. I checked that they participate in my ins prior to going. After services were provided I attempt to pay my urgent care copay and am told they will not accept it as The services may be considered energency room care. Sure enough I am now paying coinsurance balance not lesser copay. Who wins financially Ellis Medicine. What a scam and they blame the ins carrier.

This is the worst experience that I have ever had. Bi have been in this waiting room since 6 pm. Sent over by urgent care it is now 1am. And it has been 5 hours since seeing the triage Nurse !!!!!!! Close one hospital causing residents to use this one. Spend money to upgrade yet we wait. Almost a days work. And not even seen yet. And need X-rays and care. Absolutely ridiculous.

Worst service ever. Took my 1 year old daughter their last night after she fell playing. Did an xray came in and said everything was fine, no break fiddled around with her arm while she sat there SCREAMING on the top of her lungs. Sent us out the door no splint, or wrap... went to Ortho dr this am and sure enough her wrist was broken. Will never sent anyone their ever.

Not a review of the hospital itself but of the urgent care. My 5 year old daughter broke her thumb a few weeks back and the doctor at the urgent care place sent her home with a splint. Now after following up we find that she should have been sent to an orthopedic specialist right away! Her thumb is now permanently twisted, bent and damaged and will require surgery that may not still fully fix it, but we will be pursuing Ellis to pay the costs of the procedure because what the doctor did was wrong under their roof.

This will most likely be our last visit here. I understand there are many sick people you are "trying" to take care of. However, it's not hard to see patients in the order they arrive (and I understand there may be a time when someone is seen out of turn, based on the severity of the situation). The whole triage process is terrible!

Ellis has been really good I was there for a few wit my man six days he has had two operations clogged artery so we had four stents put in they went in two times. They were very good to him. I also found out our good friend Amy her daughter was here so prayers went out to her as well as me to have a friend to talk to which was also nice.

My daughter was a surgical patient at Ellis Hospital (McClellan St.) on August 18, 2014. I cannot say enough about the excellent care she received. The nurse were excellent! In this day and age when everyone is complaining about healthcare, I cannot say enough about this hospital. I wish I remembered the names of the nurses that were on duty from Monday 10:00 am August 18, 2014 to Tuesday, August 19, 2014.....you ladies rock! I hope this message gets passed onto them and their bosses....

How can this mental health clinic be allowed to continue? How many lives need to be ruined? My first negative reaction was while I was in the waiting room. There were no "average" patients just having a temporary bad time. Just patients who sadly had life long mental issue that had to be maintained. People who were too drugged to barely keep from falling off their chairs! I walked out and never went back.

I was a patient at this hospital during the late 80's. Before then, I had been in several mental health clinics. But, I had never encountered a worse mental health clinic in my life. This clinic is all about keeping the patient from ever getting better. Instead of addressing the problems, the clinicians use the problems to control the patients. There should be a sign on the entrance door: 'Abandon hope all ye who enter here'!

A person could die just getting an appointment. It takes forever. If you want to be swept under the rug; go here. Understaffed by people looking for another job. The good ones leave. The unenthusiastic ones leave too. Completely a joke but then so is the nations health care system.
