Staff stole over $300 of my loved ones property and tried to cover it up. No return phone calls or any type of help from the higher ups. Let’s only hope the detectives can help me further. Beware!

This place should be condemned by the state of New Jersey. The sewage backs up. The stairs are rickety. I paid 1000 per night for a private room so I could use my cell phone but they still wouldn’t let me and I stilll had to share a bathroom with six others with the toilets clogged and reeking of puck. The bed was fallling apart as well. Now to the service. I had to wait six hours to be checked in. They don’t check on you to see how you are doing or if you need help. I was treated with nothing but rudeness by the staff. (The staff are way overworked and there are simply not enough nurses, and those that are are in training). They failed to take my blood pressure numerous times. And then just write it on a sticky pad. The pharmaceuticals are not locked up as they should be. It is totally unprofessional the building is not up to minimum Building code strandards. And worst of all you are mixed in with a bunch of people who just got out of jail, have no sanitary happiest and not ones you would want to live with in your house. They frequently gave me the wrong medications too unless I asked them to describe each pill and what it was. This facility should be condemned and closed down. I am going to recommend to my insurance company that they stop reimbursing for it. Someone is going to die there.

I want to share my deepest gratitude for exceptional services that I have received in Sunrise Detox, …. New Jersey. My journey to recovery started from the moment I called the facility. In two hours after I had made a call, I was picked up by a driver. The driver didn’t just gave me a ride. He was friendly and a good listener. If I were to describe the ambiance of the entire place it would be kindness. When I had arrived to the facility, I was understandably scared, confused and in mounting physical and emotional distress. I was met by the technician named Anthony and by the counselor named Matt. Their humane, warm and humorous attitude was comforting. Before I met with anyone else, I was interacting with nurses. Their smiles, warm attitude, respect, genuine caring were soothing for me. I wish I remember all the names, but I do remember Sarah, Denise, Jennifer, Emily, Lily and Adriane. I’ve never noticed them heaving a busy or tired look. Technicians checking vital signs and who were monitoring me, Alicia, Betty, Merna, Katrin, never treated me as another number to put blood pressure machine and were very engaging. The counselors who ran the group met with me individually, Brittany, Joy, Mathew, showed high degree of professionalism The groups were very lively, interactive, with a very high degree of participation. There were always personable, honest and exuded human touch. In my individual experience with counselors one-to-one I experienced an individualized approach combined with a very high level of expertise and knowledge. Dr. Gutkovich

My stepson lasted 3 days there. He was cut by another patient and the staff did nothing. We picked him and was told that his cellphone and wallet which was locked up would not be released for 24 hours. We live in another state and now either drive back or have them mail it.

This facility welcomed me with open arms through years of my addiction. The staff is insanely nice, it is one of the cleanest places I've been to (28 programs overall) and an atmosphere of comfort. I did not appreciate it at the time, but looking back and over a year sober I appreciate the effort that is put into each and every client individually.

Well let’s first start off that the first 7 hours I was there, no doctor or nurse assessed me. I was there for alcohol withdrawal and vomiting after a 2 hour drive to get there. I arrived around 6:00 pm and wasn’t seen by any professional nurse until 11:00 pm. I was told they were short staffed and basically I had to suck it up. I couldn’t stop vomiting on top of having a major anxiety attack. I won’t state the technicians name but it was a black female. She mocked me and wanted to physically see my vomit because she thought I was bluffing. She was condescending and rude. I wanted to smack her in the face but obviously I would never assualt anyone. The first night was scarring. Day 2 I was still sick but at least they began to detox me. I made decent mature friends during my stay but mostly the place consisted of young punks. A certain young kid and young girl met there and became intimate. They were laying in couches, kissing, hugging etc and the staff never intervened. The rules clearly state this is off limits. So I was on the 2nd floor and the girl was on the 3rd floor. The boy snuck up there and they had sex so loud it shook my bedroom walls. Me and my room mate woke up and at the time I had no clue what was going on. I complained to the staff and nothing was done they didn’t even investigate it. Most nurses were sweet hearts besides “lee lee” she was a black female with dreadlocks. The groups were not planned out and thrown together minutes before. Very uneducational. They force you to buy a card that you can apply money onto. The card is used for a vending machine for soda, candy, chips and calling cards. Yes they make you buy calling cards to call home unless you live locally. There is 1 phone and it’s in a small tiny boxed room. It is purely disgusting in the room, it is like a bathroom stall at a beach boardwalk. How management could allow it to be so disgusting I’ll never know. Plan on doing a lot of walking because everything is in the basement and the rooms are on floors 1,2, and 3. The food was ok and the one older chef was a total out right mean old lady. She was ignorant. The Asian female chef was sweet and her food was amazing. You see they have 2 chefs that rotate days and they work 12 your shifts. The beds suck but at least every room has TVs wirh a lot of channels. There is a couch in the basement where the dining hall is with a large TV, video games, board games etc. The dining area has a decent amount of good drinks but not much choice in late night food. Most technicians were cool and accommodating except the black female I mentioned. Karen who is kinda the head honcho is awesome and sweet. She always has a smile. Also shoutout to misty the nurse who was awesome I loved her. Overall, I’d say stay away find a better detox place. I wouldn’t go back. The place also has a bad odor. Ps I completed my full stay but just felt that this was something that needed to be shared. The place in Toms River is the place to be. This one isnt.

$500/night for a private room?! Count ur blessings. Insurance didn't cover a $1 for me and my "discounted" rate was $700/night & that was a 2/3 person room! Lol. Fortunately, I enjoy it sooo much, I have already invested $20,000 into Sunrise. My insurance covers over crappy places but I refuse unless it's there! Staff are hands down the best (esp the techs!) Horrible. Took 3k for private room. No bath. There 3 hours bc sent out by ambulance. No one would return call re: refund. Refused to send suit case w me. Said maintain it. Perfume stolen. Some meds taken. Also when husband picked up suitcase no meds put in causing another trip. I don't recommend

I was there oct 23 2016 and half way thru my protocal for benzo detox I was said I was on a 9 day detox on day 5 they send me to endevor house yo finish my detox I didn't know why I was leaving they sent me out half way to a jail type detox it was terrible at strirling and there was so many drugs in the building it was in my room cause of my roommate I do not reccomend this place to anyone

this place sucks so much they Dont medicate you correctly there staff is so disrespectful they Dont treat you like human beings its not a comfortable place to be very judgmental I have completed Detox before I had to leave early because of how uncomfortable rude place it was. I ended up going to another place that was much better Dont waste your time going here. You have to share one bathroom with a whole floor of people also they Dont care about your sobriety they only care about the money its disgusting. I've never had a problem with a facility before even NY state run your treated better.

Money hungry place they do not care about your recovery all they care about is when they will get the money for your stay ... No counselors talked to me within 2 days I stayed there . Drugs can be found at facility if you want to get high ! Just a overall horrible horrible horrible experience !!! Not saying all sunrise detoxes are bad but this one in particular is one of the worst ! Good Luck !

Do not go here!! It has gone way down to no stars! They need someone like John back. I don’t think that would even help! Your treated like cattle! The nursing staff is the worst!! I am older, they would not give me my rescue inhaler , my nebulizer and my other inhalers! I couldn’t hardly breathe. It was freezing in January 2022, No Heat!!!! And the who should not be a nurse even reported to my Insurance, that I am abusing Albuterol?! They took it off, thanks my insurance Co. that’s insane! I saw older people than me falling off the bed Crying in pain!! No Help! There are Cops always there! And you are very I’ll. No help while the cackling nurses laugh all night!much much better places ! Like Princeton House, Absolute Awakening s food is great! If you want more they always have it and I plenty to eat. They don’t at Sunrise I saw Sunrise not letting people have more? Why? More important! How I saw people who needed to go to the hospital, left on the floor! I am doing very well without alcohol now! But please check out other places!!!! You can do it!! But going to Sunrise money hungry and terrible employees who are treated bad! You have to save yourself!! This place, can make you even more worce! Had to put a star, I would put -100 stars
