We were trying to get my daughter admitted in. My daughter was nervous about getting started. We put her name on the waiting list. My daughter declined the first 2 openings. She just didn't feel ready. When she finally was ready, she called them to see if there was a bed available. Shannon, was very rude and bitchy towards my addict daughter, telling her that "she is on their time, not hers". And was pushy with my daughter, telling her a bed would be available 3 days in advance. I decided to call Shannon and get details on when and where to drop her off. She gave me a date of only 3 days in advance, and that it had to be 10am. I told her that there was little notice and that I had prior appointments set for that morning. She got very short with me, telling me that this does not work for her... even stating "maybe this place isn't the right fit for your daughter". I thought to myself, why is this woman being so pushy and difficult with me?.. My daughter needed to go to detox first at Douglas Cnty detox before she could be admitted in to Sana Monica. My daughter was instructed by Shannon to check in with her daily while there, of which my daughter did do. She was suppose to go to the Santa Monica immediately after. They said they would pick her up from there. However, the Douglas County Detox place did not allow my daughter to bring her things she packed for her stay at Santa Monica. So, I would have needed to bring it for her when she was done detoxing. It made sense for me to just pick her up from detox and bring her to Santa Monica with her things. When my daughter called to check in tonight with Shannon at Santa Monica, anticipating getting started with her 90 day rehab the following day, Shannon informed her that they were suppose to pick her up from detox and that there was no longer a bed available. She also told my daughter that she should find help elsewhere. Why would it matter so much as to how she gets to rehab? Shouldn't we be focusing on the fact that she just gets there? She was told she could not get the help she needed, merely because she wanted to be dropped off by her mother, rather than getting picked up by them. This whole experience has been very stressful for both myself and especially my daughter. I personally felt bullied and made to feel that if things weren't done exactly the way Shannon wanted, she would deny the help my daughter desperately needed. I guess Shannon was correct when she stated that her facility's help was only available on their time, not ours. I am almost relieved, if it was that stressful and horrible of an experience trying to get admitted, I can only imagine how horrible my daughters stay would have been.

Awful place. Not conducive to a recovery environment whatsoever. Very strict, hardly get to talk to your loved ones. Overly invasive and no compassion for the wants and needs of pregnant women. Will not advocate for your needs in court. They only care about keeping you there so they can keep their funding from the state. Would not recommend if you want to be happy and comfortable in your journey to sobriety.
