All around positive experience, which is not what I expected for a state mandated program. These guys are really genuine in wanting to help you. I was lucky enough to have Mickey for my one on ones and I cannot say enough nice things about him. He is a great person and I learned alot from him. Jim and Phil I didn't get to know as well but both nice guys and very helpful. I finished the 50 hr CIP program in 1 month doing 10 hr saturdays. Highly reccomended.

Phil, Mickey, Jim and Mary Beth are the premiere SATOP counselors and staff in the Ozarks. I would recommend this class not only for SATOP, but just for counseling in general if allowed. I am leaving Door To Hope a much more responsible man, father and a friend. Phil, I will indeed stay in contact with. He actually is a caring and sincere counselor who cared about me as not just a SATOP client, but a man in general. If for some unfortunate circumstance, Door To Hope in Nixa MO, is the ideal place to complete SATOP and feel as if family are there to help you.

I must admit it saddens me to see these two negative reviews about Mary Beth Good. I actually am a friend of hers, and I know her to be a kind and caring person who sincerely tries to help her clients. Diane, could it be that you thought she said she could get you through for a lower price when perhaps she said she would try to see if she could? Sometimes a mere communication problem can leave one feeling wronged. I'm not sure what to say about your paperwork, but I know she tries her best to obey the rules while simultaneously expending herself for her clients. As for Neil, well your statement is obviously intended to be hurtful, because you give no specifics on how you were wronged or what she can do to correct the matter. Putting that type of damaging statement out in the public without giving any basis in fact is wrong. I know there can be personality conflicts, but that does not give one person the right to publicly damage another person if they can in any way avoid it. Through my experience in dealing with those having addictive personalities, resentment plays a big role in how they view others, especially those who are trying to help them. I can say one thing for Mary Beth, she is a smart lady and a caring person. I am sure she researched more glamorous careers before following her heart to help those plagued with addictions. I hope any future readers of these reviews will keep this in mind and bring balance to such negative comments.

Both of the counselors are extremely knowledgeable, I thought it was going to just be like another state run rehab-type facility, but both of the facilitators, Jim and Mickey, make the program as interesting as possible. At first I was DREADING having to do my 50 hours, but it really wasn't bad at all. I would definitely recommend the Door To Hope Nixa location for Anyone who has to do SATOP. The two facilitators both have totally different personalities, so you will identify with at least one of them. Jim is old school and Mickey is younger, so whatever counseling style best fits your needs, depending on your age or preference of teaching style, they have both, but both are very educated in drug/alcohol dependency and the laws that govern the state. They try to make the program as interesting as possible. I was very surprised at how laid back the sessions were, yet at the same time learning the curriculum that Jim, Mickey, and Mary Beth helped create and now is used statewide. They even pop popcorn during the life lesson movies! :) I almost went to the Springfield location and I am Very glad that I went to Door To Hope in Nixa instead!... Plus when you do your program there you are done with it and 4 weeks (if level 3) , just four 10-hour classes instead of like 25 two-hour classes lol. Good people, good all around!.. Never thought I would find myself saying this lol!

Having to do satop is paying your debt of breaking the law. It's not fun. Most places make it feel that way. Very stiff and uncaring. The staff at door to hope makes the debt easier to do and you feel like you've accomplished something. Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and caring about the true purpose of why this class even exists is the best way to describe door to hope. Thank you. The negative reviews are clearly individuals that haven't been to the other centers and are not ready to accept their behavior and move on.

If you need an eval If you need any SATOP services take your money elsewhere! Mary Beth Good told me she was going to recommend me for one program in order to get my money after which she slammed me with the maximum..50 hours for my first offense before I even answered one question on the evaluation. She refused to answer any of my questions as to why she lied to me and refused to give me any copies of the paperwork to which I was legally entitled. When I told her that I would be completing the assigned hours elsewhere she got angry and demanded to know why and then when I asked for her supervisor's contact info I was all but thrown out of her office..I have filed a complaint with the state which is currently pending..

Jen and Ron aka Phil really make the classes rather fun in a crazy sense. I am truly glad that I call the Door to Hope instead of some other place.
