I would NEVER recommend even my worst enemy to endure their pregnancy at this outdated and unethical facility. It is overcrowded, the staff is often more rude than polite, and you have very little to any say in how your birth will go since you sign your rights away when you come in the door. I had a doctor literally trick me into breaking my water by telling me they were just checking to see how far I was, and once he started I began pulling away and begging him not to, which meant nothing to this busy doctor. I felt like an animal, it was traumatic. I hope this helps someone from making the same mistake I did for the convenience of it being close to my home. I would stay home before ever going back.

My wife went there for a kidney stone.They let her lay in the emergency room fo 5 hrs in severe pain.Gave her 2 Tylenol that she promptly threw up.Never saw a dr once and only a couple nurses came in room the whole time.Never ran any test to see what was going on and sent her Lomé with an antibiotic.Said it was a bladder infection.was a horrible experience. Took her to Jefferson memorial in festus 3 days later when she wasn’t improving and they took very good care of her and ran test to check for kidney stones. Our family will never go to Parkland hospital again! Horrible experiences!!!!!!

Had the best experience while here. Was here working on a security contract and they made sure that my officers and I were well taken care of and well fed. Hospital Security was very helpful and very courteous. Definitely will return for work and in, god forbid, a dire time of need.

The staff is amazing, and it's such a friendly environment. Dr. Borchers heard that I was without a doctor since my last one suddenly retired without early notice.. And she personally came to the room that I was waiting in just to meet me, and to make sure everything was going okay. Super sweet. Also got a tour of the whole maternity ward

Some of the staff could use more training and their are some good doctors there...one dr saved my kids life... If we as parents would be more cautious in every day life we wouldn't need the er as often... Granted sometimes things happen... No one is perfect... Except Jesus Christ and.... Remember the sick ones that are always abusing the use of the hospital keep it full. (Druggies, alcoholics, and etc, just to get a high instead of saving a life)... Another reason why it is so hard to get medication for us who need it and dont abuse the medication... Remember to pray and god bless you...thank you and amen

Been here for at least 5-6 hours waiting on the er to contact another hospital to find a dr that can do surgery on my wife. Every 2 hours they pop in and say oh nothing yet while my wife is throwing up because the pain is so bad. No sense of urgency at all. And you can hear the nurses walking by the rooms talking poorly about the other patients. Piss poor er.

I had to go to Parkland for a planned Tubal ligation with Dr. Kumar. I was very nervous but the nurses were wonderful, kind and caring. Dr. Kumar did a great job and i can't say enough to praise him, the nurses at the outpatient surgery and his staff. I would highly recommend Parkland to anyone. Thank you!

I have had horrible service here. I've waited for hours and hours for nothing. Some of the nurses don't seem to care about the patients, there are a few that do. I would recommend go north to a better hospital.

Just had to take my injured son to the E.R. on a Saturday evening and the parking area was nearly full. Expecting a long wait I was pleasantly surprised. From the time we entered it was very efficient, check in, vitals, diagnosis and treatment. The staff was very kind and courteous. We don't have a lot of E.R. experiences (thank God) but can't imagine it being any better. Our thanks to the staff.

Great staff from nurses to intake to janitorial. There can be a wait at times in the ER, being this is the only Emergency Room for the area. Ive been an in-patient as well as ER patient and had out patient surgery as well and really not had terrible experiences....i have had one bad Dr but he no longer practices here so we won't go there ;) My only real advice prepare for a 2-3 hr wait for a simple ER visit (thats to get in a room) and expectbhours if that waiting toom is full. And please remember the im take people and nurses cant make thing go any faster.....so be nice. Every patient and family member there waiting is having a rough day too!!

Very very bad hospital. I came in with the fear of a miscarriage and the nurse comes in and says ur pregnancy test was negative so do u want to go home? I said no i came in here for two things. I gave severe back pain as well. I drove 30 minutes to get here. I waited in the waiting room for almost 2 hours. And then i get in the room and the nurse comes in almost immediately and says ur test was negative donu want to leave? Like seriously. And then when u say ur allergic to something they try and give it to u anyways. Not all of us are our here trying to score pain meds. Some of us actually need something for our pain. I mean seriously. U can have my back for 1 whole day. I bet u would be giving it back in an hour. And then u would give me something for the pain wouldnt u. Put urself in ur patients shoes and then take a step back and look at these reviews. Something is wrong here.

Worst hospital ever. The er takes forever . They don't care if ur crying or bleeding they don't rush. They are rude and pick favorited.

Worse hospital in the county do not recommend taking yourself here or your loved ones they do not care about there patients they play favoritism they are rude and take there time in the ER I strongly recommend festus where they actually care!

First off let me say if I could give a minus review I would because believe me a One is much too generous....it insinuates some kind of ok and there is no ok with this place or the service we received. My 7 month old granddaughter was here 2 nights in a row. The first night she was told she has rsv and a touch of pneumonia then was sent home with a steroid shot ...this was a saturday night, so of course she couldn't see her dr until monday. The next day she was considerably worse, her soft spot on the top of her head had sunken in which is a sign of dehydration, I may not be a Dr but I know this is something you don't mess around with especially with a baby....along with not eating and losing her breath and gasping for air. So we take her again to the ER. After sitting there 2 hours she drops her pacifier on the floor...so I ask for a new one ...they come back with a bottle lid and nipple and say this is all we can find. What?? you don't give a baby a bottle nipple that has a hole to suck air let alone the fact that she could suck the whole thing down her throat. So my daughter decides to try to feed her, so she asks if there was somewhere she could go to breastfeed, and they replied, is there too many people in the waiting room?? then can you go to your car? Are you kidding me? There is a sick baby that has been waiting over 2 hours and you want her to go out to a cold car to breastfeed. This is really unbelievable to me. It's one of those stories , you're going no way this cant be true. Well it gets better...or I should say worse. The baby starts losing her breath and is gasping for air, my daughter literally runs up to the desk with her and the receptionist is on the phone and doesn't even look up. Well here is where I sort of lost it. I did get loud because apparently I had to. I said for the whole ER to hear "Ok someone needs to do something and do something now, this is ridiculous, this is a baby" well then....they have a nurse check her oxygen and she says well her oxygen is 99%. I said I don't care she is gasping for air, this is a baby, does a person have to die to be seen? Her only response was I know you are concerned, but we don't have a room available. In my eyes I think a sick baby gasping for air might outrank someone who stubbed their toe, even if they were there first. One couple was so upset by this that they asked if we could find another hospital, because they were concerned for the baby, they ending up walking out of the Er with their child right after this after this, giving them a piece of their mind on the way out, practically everyone was shaking their head in disbelief. We had already traveled an hour to get here and would have had to travel another hour to another hospital so we stayed but we wont EVER do this again. Now today the baby has to back to the Dr and he could not believe she wasn't given fluids or had any blood work done. My piece of advice to you if you love your family member keep on driving, you could literally fall in the floor and die and they probably wouldn't notice ...oh until its your turn...........4 hours later!!

Excellent care, friendly staff, pleasant experience. Dr explained in detail how he was going to correct problem. Dr called cardiologist and orthopedic surgeon and arranged follow-up surgery/procedures. Very satisfied with patient care and pain management.

I gave birth here and I was very well taken care of by the OB staff! The nurses really know there stuff and we're very supportive in answering all my new mommy concerns and questions. I couldn't have done it all without them. I really appreciated the anesthesiologist Joe who really made sure I was okay during the ceceran procedure! He kept checking my emotions to see that I was okay. Dr. Grechus made sure to walk me through the procedure of a ceceran surgery which calmed my nerves tremendously! I gave to say though despite all the wonderful nurses and staff, Angie was my most favored person to see! She really gave me her full attention and made sure to answer all my questions and then some! Thank you staff for help bringing me through my recovery and for helping introduce my new son into the world!!!!

My wife and I had our first son at Parkland. I cant say enough about Dr. Kumar's office, OB staff, and all that had a hand in our stay. Even the maintenance man who fixed a squeaky door so it didn't wake the baby. Professional, knowledgable, friendly, no stone went unturned. The list goes on and its all positive. 5 Stars to Dr. Kumar himself also. Big thank you to everyone that took part in our stay. Keep up the great work.
