I really feel like Magnolia needs to get their priorities straight. My husband sat in the waiting room for THREE hours bleeding. It was horrible! He gashed his wrist open while working, and had the worst care at the emergency room. Number one, If you have time to sit around laughing and cutting up with your little nurse buddies, then you should have time to clean up and wound and stitch it up. It literally took 15 minutes to care for my husband, yet he waited three hours. I honestly can\'t even say they\'re a bandaid station anymore....

Wait time in the ER is extremely too long. I’ve worked in doctors offices and this particular hospital as well. It doesn’t take that long. Please do better for the sake of your patients.

In January, I broke my ankle and my leg in a very traumatic accident at home. I had to have nearly 100 staples and sutures and several screws with two plates during surgery. I did not want to call an ambulence when it happened, but my friend and her dad wanted to prevent further injury,so we called. Not only did the Iuka hosp. Emts knee my dog in the chest because she got \"too close\" to her (entire time tail wagging vigorously and obviously very friendly) but they refused to carry me down my steep stairs. If my foot is wobbling completely side to side at the ankle how am I supposed to walk? Did they think I was faking it,did it on purpose? Why couldn\'t they carry me? I know I am not small, but isn\'t being able to lift a certain weight a job requirement? It was already a sudden, confusing time and I was trying to process them telling me rudely and snickering that they wouldn\'t carry me. For some reason they went to their vehicle and only the woman came back up after several minutes. I asked my friend to tell them their services are not needed then, if they cannot carry me. Forced to sign a waiver as I crawled on hands and a knee the best I could down the steep concrete stairs. Hospital had same apathetic, judging nature. The surgeon on call ordered I be checked in to a room and would do surgery the next day. It was over 12 hours later before I even seen him. His bedside manner was very friendly but he did not explain anything and with all those hours of pain and no sleep I didn\'t know to ask. Even though I explained that I have had other personally traumatic events in my life and hospitals,etc. are a trigger for my PTSD and anxiety no one cared about my mental health in the slightest. I explained that nothing was to be inserted into my IV without consent, they tried to put morphine in it. I explained calmly as I could,again that I had been through a lot in life and nothing was okay to put in my veins but they still,without consent, attempted to give me morphine, saline. I was horrified,morphine?? I said NOTHING in my veins to every one I came into contact with. I have seen the horrors of morphine and hospitals happen to several close relatives. Years before I had taken a couple pain pills for an abscessed tooth so I would have been okay with a low dose, but they said only intravenously or \'up my butt\'. I went the entire time with no pain meds. Even a tylenol would have helped. The whole time I explained how mentally disturbed this situation made me and how mental health pain trumps physical pain. No one had anything to say even though I repeated this the entire time. I was asleep after the anesthesia/surgery for over five hours. A nurse was loudly waking me up when I came to for the first time. I was still very disoriented and stayed that way for two days (Is that normal? anesthesia never effected me like that before). No one asked how I felt,no one explained my post operative care, said \"light pressure on toes only\" in discharge papers,literally only words. Also, I did not know that I had to have had such extensive work done, so I was not expecting how long recovery was going to be and how horrible my ankle would look. I was told by a nurse that my surgeon was new and I assume he must have immediately quit that hospital after my surgery, I never got to talk to or see him again. The voicemail I received from hospital for follow up was completely apathetic,seemingly sarcastic and said the \"Dr. no longer works here so you can come back or find him maybe in Panama because that\'s where he was from\". This isn\'t my first horrible experience with the hospitals in this area, especially this one. A few years ago the nurse director had a lunch meeting and I was their waitress. Apparently,they were taking note of my hospitality and patience I had for my difficult customers. He asked if I ever wanted to become a nurse and then offered to give me his used laptop after I explained that\'s the main reason I haven\'t been able to go back to college. If they know how apathetic and impatient their staff is, why has nothing changed?

For this to be such a top notch facility, they need to get it together. We were just there with my Dad and were told he had a gallbladder full of stones yet the Doctor told him he would be better off to just go home and see what happens. The week before, we were there with him and told them he couldn’t and wouldn’t eat and that he had lost over 40 pounds and was dehydrated. They gave him fluids, drew some blood and took a urine sample and sent us home. Now 2 days after leaving there we are admitted at Tupelo and they are saying his blood is so low he may need a blood transfusion and has some type of mass showing up in his liver. The first time he was there when they send home home they stuffed him in the car and actually hurt him they were so rough. The 2nd time they didn’t even help them get him in the car. My mom and her brother almost let him fall getting him the car because he was so weak and he can’t stand due to a stroke in the past. It’s completely rediculous how he was treated.
