New Beginnings saved my life over 16 years ago. It was the foundation to showing me a way of living that has been beyond my wildest dreams. Through the years my dream has been to go back and work as a counselor. That dream has come true and I have been with New Beginnings as a primary counselor for many years. The work atmosphere is fantastic and I get to work with a team of professionals the go beyond each and every day. I personally get to see people rebuild their lives everyday for which it is an absolute Joy. I have read some of the bad reviews on here and I have to sit back and breathe as I know the whole story and many of these cases. Obviously the whole story isn\'t being told. There are many times when I have watched some of the past patients screaming, yelling and being highly aggressive with a mostly female staff there. When this happens I think to myself how unfortunate it is they don\'t realize how much the staff is trying to help them despite the level of aggression they are faced with. I suspect some of these comments that are negative are from people that were held accountable for negative behaviors, using or smuggling drugs into the treatment center, or just not being ready to give up their self-destructive lifestyle. That being the case, I wish them peace and serenity in their lives. I also encourage them to take accountability for their part and not play the blame game. Again, I can\'t say enough about the level of care that the staff provide to the patients. It is unfortunate some people need to go out of their way whether a past patient or staff and post public comments that speak negatively of this place. When you do that, that speaks volumes about your character

I felt compelled to review as I went through New Beginnings, and am still involved/active in the program. I have seven years clean. All of these negative comments are things that take place at just about any treatment center a person can attend. And some of them are random incidents. The staff here goes above and beyond to help patients in all areas while they are there. I have never in my life seen the displays of care and concern that this facility offers, at any other place. The staff AND the patients continuously come together to help others in the program who may be struggling. If you came through New Beginnings and had a terrible experience, maybe you should take a look at your part. The staff should not have to put more effort into your getting better, than you do-BUT THEY DO anyway! I would recommend New Beginnings (Meridian Behavioral Health) to anyone I cared about-or don\'t care about. The staff, the counselors, the view, the variety of groups, the activities, the environment, family participation group, the food, the encouragement, the support, the resources,THE STEAK FRY, and the location. WHAT else is there??

I worked here as a clinical staff. It is important that the community know this is not a New Beginnings facility, it was bought out by Meridian Behavioral Health. If you are looking for true co-occurring treatment that is effective, I recommend that you do your research. It is apparent that this company does NOT have the wellbeing of their clients in the fore-front of their approaches. They are only concerned with money and keeping beds full. I would never send a loved one here for treatment nor recommend this facility/company to stakeholders such as clients and their families. Go elsewhere.

?WARNING? This place is a JOKE!❌ I would not recommend it. I would go to another place for treatment I use to work there staff were not treated right.? they care more about sewing the hole in their pockets then your actual care, “(Be Warned)”!

This facility is truly the best. Saved my life. The structure is hard but it\'s that way for a reason and that reason saved me and who I used to be. I am forever grateful for Wavery and they\'re staff not to mention is very supportive and professional. If they\'re was a problem staff resolved it immediately. Also the food is the best LITTERALLY. I\'m missing it bigtime. Thank you New beginnings I will be attending the alumni event\'s hopefully sooner rather than later.

Warning! They put my sister back on a narcotic right before discharge, and during family visitation she was high out of her mind!! This is the same narcotic she has abused in the past. She had been clean for over a month but was able to manipulate New Beginnings staff into putting her back on the narcotic. She is now worse than before she came in!

A decent Facility, but not for everybody. My experience is probably a unique one, or possibly how they handle people when they dont know whats really going on with a person. The experience was partly traumatic, On one hand I had one counselor thanking me for my honesty, another one acting like he wasn\'t satisfied with my efforts. I busted my backside to get through treatment and was basically penalized because of a panic attack due to the goofy assignments they made us do and they wanted us to show or read whatever it was in front of all those people. come to find out I have a complex case of PTSD and their headshrink they made me see at intake said that I had low self esteem. These people were mostly nice but there was an incident where a tech overheard something totally innocent and she flipped out in a meeting she arranged in the cafeteria about it and dropped some f-bombs. Another time there was a person there who didnt like the music playing during a trip to an A.A. meeting so he told us all that we were \" Going to hell\" and that we were \" Going to relapse anyway\" This person also threatened physical violence and harrassed others. That person remained after I left, and i believe he got away with creating a hostile environment in a place he had no business being. (he should have been sitting in a county lockup). So, basically I experienced some bullying, I was Judged, viewed and perceived to be a lowlife pos while the criminal element gets all the praise and I end up with an unfavorable discharge summary because of a panic attack they triggered. I did feel alot different when I left, it felt like a kinda positive experience, but when I learned what they decided to say about me; It brought back alot of bad memories due to my condition. This was approximately 11 years ago, and I made more progress on my own through talk therapy, proper diagnosis of my actual condition, Medication, and EMDR therapy. Would they have acted differently had they known my actual condition? Hard to say, but given the experience I had, it is highly doubtful. Thanks to this place, tax payers dollars were wasted because I have to go through treatment again. All because they didn\'t know how to properly handle diverse situations. Yes, the county paid for my stay and it was a waste, the ceritficate of completion is useless and not worth the paper it was printed on. All the thank yous and good job comments were obviously just a ruse. When I was gone, that was when the real sendoff came, I guess they needed one last laugh. Thanks for the experience, I still have to live with it. You guys don\'t.

Terrible counselors! One very Explicit! A nurse actually quit due to her overhearing one counselor yelling at me and pointing at the door! Because I was due to be done 3 days before Christmas but my counselor had such a cold heart and wanted keep me 2 days after Christmas! Luckily I got Covid Christmas Day AM got to go home completing the program. My counselor Never sent me my Certificate! Just an Overalls terrible program. I’d really rate it 0 Stars! Kim in nursing is amazing and Robbie..? And of course Rachel who quit! Way to go Rachel!!
