This place really is what you make it, a lot of the comments on other reviews are exaggerated and not true. There is structure and rules but that is to be expected. If you work a good program and are honest with staff they really work with you and I can say personally they have really turned my life around. I would definitely recommend to anyone who’s taking their recovery seriously.

I think it\'s a decent place..like Austin said it\'s really what you make of it and I have been able to be open and honest with the staff with no judgements...I don\'t like that you can\'t leave after 4pm but us addicts need structure and need to learn to follow a schedule...and you can leave after 4p if it\'s pretty approved...I would recommend it for sure

This is the worst halfway house you can go to. It\'s more like an inpatient treatment then halfway house. You have to turn your cell phone in at night at 6pm-8pm then at 10pm-8am. You can leave from 10am-Noon only if you have a \"treatment related\" reason. You have to eat at the halfway house so you can\'t leave from 12pm-1pm then you can leave again from 1-4pm but that\'s it. You have to check in physically every 2 hours so no need to go across town you won\'t have time. If you do get a job you can only work 20 hours a week and you can\'t work after 4pm. You can\'t leave the house at night at all. You\'re not allowed to watch any sports such as NBA, NFL, NHL, etc. The techs are power controlling and super strict I couldn\'t relate or talk to any of them about my problems I had because they wouldn\'t have it. They treat your recovery more like a game trying to catch you doing something wrong so they can write you up where they should be helping not being sneaky with you. The counselors need to be fired my counselor wrote a bunch of made up lies on my discharge papers and my aftercare plan making me out to look like a bad guy and that I wasn\'t at all serious about my recovery. He also left me \"in the system\" so they were pulling funding for me to be there for 3 months after I left (successfully). You are not allowed into anybody else\'s apartment. They spend little to nothing on groceries and you can\'t purchase your own food. When you do go shopping a tech comes with you at all times and decides what you can and cannot have so you learn no independent budgeting skills. They treat grown adult men like we\'re children. Also if you get placed on \"Restriction\" (I wasn\'t) you have to do the techs job while they sit around and do nothing, which is more of a cop-out for them working then anything. I would not recommend this place to anybody they are only in it for the money, it makes me want to relapse just thinking about it but thankfully I\'m still sober.

They have also gone down hill rapidly the past year as they have transitioned CEOs and have become very driven by the dollar vs going the distance for patient needs. They also refuse to work much with clients on individualizing aftercare and force the cookie cutter step down model onto those in the legal system. So far my stay at their halfway house has been atrocious. Short staffed and they do nothing to help clients get gainful employment and do many things to discourage it. Also have a 6pm curfew which makes it hard to learn or relearn being in the community doing sober activities.
