This facility helped me a lot. I have been to other residential facilities and mental hospitals and those gave me more irreversible trauma than anything. Yes the staff are irritating, and other residents are annoying and can be mean, but that’s just how long-term treatment is. The staff really do care and do everything in their power to help you heal. The school is great. The animal husbandry portion of the program is absolutely amazing. Each group alternates cleaning the barn, as well as snow shoveling duties during the winter. It’s not fun, but it’s a really great way to keep us responsible and accountable. The building is remarkably clean, the therapists are amazing, the office staff are kind, and all in all it is a very nice treatment center. I guarantee most of the people giving one star reviews are just upset they were kept in treatment or held accountable or had to do chores- it is not an accurate reflection of Woodland Hills. While I understand not everyone has the experience I did, it’s simply incorrect.

Staff listen to conversations btwn client and family, which goes against state statute. Family therapist makes things up as he goes along, like we'll be having family therapy, then forgets about said lie and the therapy doesn't happen. Clinical staff mute phone call with parents to tell child what to say- that is a great strategy to build a relationship through trust, communication, and respect. I hate this place. They also have no emergency plan if your child ends up in the ER. And no they won't let you see you child. I was told by the CEO of I didn't like that they didn't let me see my child during her crisis I could check my child out and go elsewhere. Gina, who is now part of their new and very disorganized admin team told me while checking my daughter in that if I didn't like the way they were doing things I could take my daughter with me. Dawn, the admin of the therapists also told me the same thing. Hey the jist of the admin team and their "family oriented" therapy approach that they talk about all over their website- yeah not true. Record every conversation you have with these people. They cannot and should not be trusted at all. Only send your child here as a last resort

Terrible. The beds are uncomfortable, other group members were rude to me and staff didn't really do anything about it. And they forbid you to even look at other groups. It was terrible.
