What a fantastic place. Addiction is such a heavy burden in the life of an addict. The resources that are available to those suffering from addiction are not always the best and easiest thing to pursue. However, this a small, tight knit staff that genuinely cares for each and every patient. They make you feel as though you are not a bad person or someone who should be ashamed of their situation and their addiction. They are there to offer hope, to offer a solution and to provide medically supervised support in your journey to recovery. I really have a lot of love for any place that offers hope and compassion to every individual that walks in the door. I love that it's a smaller place with a very friendly, connected staff. It isn't just about the money there - it's about the patient and their treatment plan. It's about wellness and finding hope after the debilitating struggle of active addiction. I think that this a great place to begin your journey and it's not like any of the other places that claim to offer the same kind of support. This is a very well structured, friendly, clean, honest and well intentioned place. I would recommend this to anyone struggling with opiate addiction and dependence. There's freedom from that bondage, and it starts here.

First of all, any reviews based on this facility or program BY WOMAN are fake because this is a mens only program. (A womans based program is based in a facility called Naomi's Nest.) An absolutely dreadful excuse for rehabilitation services. Not only do they try cramming as many billable hours onto their tab, the "Self Help" (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) model is outdated and lacking in so many ways. Based on personal, first hand knowledge of this program, I can assure you that the mode in which the program is delivered and all multimedia aids used during the course are extremely outdated. You can not show a video with a 1984 copyright (and show the same video repeatedly (sometimes twice a week...) and assure the clientele that it is current clinical opinion! First, THE CLIENTELE.... 85 percent of the resident clients are mandated to appear at Elmhurst Home/Naomi's Nest as past of their criminal sentence. Elmhurst Home/Naomi's Nest Inc. capitalize on this by putting their highly inflated "program" (cognitive behavioral therapy) before the county and state making it attractive based on the overall per person cost of the stay. These high profile clients are battling not only addiction, but also a criminal based lifestyle. They bring ALL this baggage with them during their stay at Elmhurst Home/Naomi's Nest Second, THE ACCOMMODATIONS... are equally as bad. Up to ten clients in a room, in bunk beds with the cheapest mattresses, linen and blankets that can be sold on the market. (However, the bathrooms and showers have been updated at Elmhurst Home and it is a huge improvement.) Third, OVERALL CLEANLINESS... overall cleanliness of the facility is maintained by THE CLIENTS! Elmhurst Home/Naomi's Nest also use something called "The ARC Program". This program assigns specific maintenance/labor jobs to the clients as soon as they arrive. With this unending FREE LABOR the facility takes care of regular maintenance, cleaning and food production using their unpaid Rehabilitation Clients. Not only do the clients have a regular roster of chores such as cleaning and caring for their own personal space (as they should....) but the have a revolving roster of cleaning all the public spaces of the facility (Main Office, Hallways, Bathrooms, Main Meeting Hall, Cafeteria, Kitchen....) And, all clients must work in the Kitchen under supervision to prepare all meals for the facility. THIS IS A MANDATORY REQUIREMENT TO COMPLETE THE PROGRAM AND NONCOMPLIANCE IS MET WITH DISCIPLINARY ACTION OR TERMINATION FROM THE PROGRAM. All of this done daily without pay. (And the facility is still charging the client's medical insurance for their stay and "care" at the facility.) Cleanliness aside, the facilities have had frequent problems in the past with Mice, Roaches and Bed Bugs. The problem ebbs and flows with the seasons, but nevertheless remains a problem. During my stay at Elmhurst Home, I was never privy to actually see data concerning successful completion of the program. After being there for sometime I wouldn't believe the statistics anyway because of the amount of program dropouts, program dismissals, clients absconding, recidivism rates and just plain overall failure to the clientele. This review is my own personal view of these facilities, I don't want to sway you in ANY possible decisions concerning your future or sobriety. HOWEVER!!!!!! I do feel you have the right to be informed before entering an unqualified facility that is promising that they are responsible enough to care for you during this fragile time in your life. Anyone and I do mean anyone that says Elmhurst is not a good Rehabilitation Center are probably still on drugs and that's serious it's a beautiful place where they truly care for their patients with care and love of course I heard a young lady save it you have to clean up and you have to do this they're trying to build you and being someone who you were not beautiful place
