As others stated: this place saved my life and was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The program/team educated, challenged, supported, and connected me. There’s a good amount of structure in your day but I still felt like I had autonomy which is very important to me. I love how much psychosocial education is offered daily, which is nicely balanced with group therapy and various recreational therapies. You are exposed to many different therapeutic methods so when you leave you know what really works for you and what doesn’t. (They even offer family or couple sessions for patients if that’s helpful.) I wasn’t discharged until we had a clear plan in place for outpatient care that was right for me and covered by my insurance. I was impressed how every staff member learned everyone’s names right away. They were genuine, professional, respectful, and knowledgeable. They run two groups of about 5-8 patients each and these groups are sometimes combined, so the setting is very intimate and you are exposed to a fairly diverse range of people and perspectives. While I was there, the patients ranged from 18 to 76, and most of us were professionals, students, and retirees. The Huron Oaks facility is very clean with a lovely trail around it that I walked daily. There’s always coffee, tea, juice, and snacks available all day; and the food was surprisingly good. I cannot say enough good things about my experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone who feels they’re in a mental health crisis or on their way there.

Not happy with my experience here! I wasn’t allowed to miss one day due to emergency and even had a doctors note yet others patients miss a day & wasn’t discharged told me i was Told this in I wasn’t Not was I given anything in writing stating this nor did I sign any thing agreeing to these terms. They don’t provide transportation and emergencies come up the Intake lady rude the whole time! They treat people differently i wasn’t Provided with no resources just referred to the same place that keeps ignoring me. Was told to focus on things and open up and talk about things that was not the reason for me being there. Was not prescribed anything for the reasons i was There just for sleep and it was not effective at all! Didn’t like the way i was Treated by the PA and the intake lady , dismissed felt disrespected, ignored , & disregarding. They only seem to care about collecting insurance money not Resouces or help you resolve & cope with the reasons you are there..

I had an initial review with Shawn about my Health and Goals. He will meet with Courtney to discuss a game plan for me and then I will meet with Courtney. She has the resources and contacts to help me find a Psychiatrist and Counselor that accepts my insurance change this year and can also point me in the right direction for other help or services I may need. I've been struggling to so all of this myself and it's just all too overwhelming. So, I am so glad that my doctor referred me here. I'm hoping this will relieve some stress and anxiety from my plate.
