I went to Shoemaker and Sykesville Maryland and 2012 and it was my first time at a rehab facility trying to receive a recovery. The first time I was there, although the place was dirty and the food was absolutely disgusting, the counselors were amazing and helped me a lot! And at the time, most of the counselors there were recovering at it themselves which I always find are the best facilities to go to where the place is worn down and gross but you get the most help from the counselors that work there. However, after leaving she makes her for the first time and returning home I realize that I could not return back to the same people places and things and my counselor at Shoemaker got me back in for another two weeks in order for me to get transferred to a halfway house which was amazing of her. Her name was Megan by the way. When I returned about a month later, there was a counselor who works there named Todd. I do not remember his last name but he looked kind of like Adam Sandler and all of the girls drooled over him constantly and the first time I was there I heard a rumor that he was hooking up with the patients, but I didn\'t believe it because he was supposedly engaged to one of the staff members at the facility! LOL, go figure! Well, I came to find out for myself that he was indeed hooking up with the patients because I was one of them and he continued to have a relationship with me outside of the facility when I got to the halfway house where I found out another girl that lived there was also in a relationship with him! SMH! To make a long story short, me and the other girl who was involved with Todd called Shoemaker and informed them of what they are so-called trusted counselor was doing to the vulnerable women who are there to get clean and taking advantage of them. Of course, he was fired immediately and I had to go get a restraining order against him because he threatened to get his crackhead friends from Baltimore to jump me because he knew where I lived and he was going to be outside of the halfway house and was going to find me when I was alone! That is obviously why I took out the restraining order. Mind you this was back in 2012. I did receive a friend request from him about 5 years ago. Obviously, I did not accept it and I don\'t care to know how he\'s doing or what he\'s doing but I\'m sure a lot of the women that have been to Shoemaker during that time know who I\'m talking about and has maybe been through the same experience and I am sharing this now because for some reason it popped into my head and I felt like I needed to leave a reply or those women who have gone through the same thing I did with him and that they are not alone and if they ever need to reach out and talk about it, you are free to email me at [email protected]
