I just spent 5 days inpatient care on the cardiac unit. Dr. Brian Cunningham was the Doctor assigned to treat me. I had the best possible care and treatment, not only from Doctor Cunningham, but the entire staff , including the housekeeper and food service staff. I couldn\'t have asked for better care and treatment. Not one single complaint from this patient. Thank you Owensboro Regional Health Hospital.

I do not live locally and I am glad. This has been one of the worst hospitals I have ever visited. The staff is rude. We stayed in a hospitality room for $25.00. There was food in the refrigerator that was not ours. Used soap in shower that was not ours. The coffee machine did not work. I informed the front desk. Two hours later it still was not fixed. The response I was given was “well it’s not like they are just around the corner to fix it!” The staff at the front desk of the CCU should be trained to have a little more compassion. Every person I have encountered has been rude from the front desk to the cafeteria. The only kind individual I encountered was Dana, a security guard. Unfortunately, someone called security and all we were doing was sitting in the waiting room. I felt as if they were going to search us for weapons/drugs! This place is a joke. I feel sorry for everyone that lives in Owensboro that has to use this nasty, rude hospital.

Ashley Ingram was my mom\'s nurse, she was very friendly and informative. She also was able to draw blood the first time when hitting a vein on my mom. Thank you Ashley, for your help and warm welcome

My boyfriend is going through a lot of medical problems all at once and this hospital has been almost a literal lifesaver. His main doctor, Dr. Jama Patterson, is phenomenal and she\'s listened to everything we have to say and has worked so well at putting a team together for his medical problems. He\'s had appointments so far with a pulmonologist, a neurologist, a neurosurgeon, an orthopedic doctor, several MRI\'s, multiple blood panels, and other testing. He\'s also been to the emergency room and we had maybe a 30 minute wait and very prompt care. Everyone has been very friendly, helpful, and has listened so we\'ll to the problems he\'s having and they\'re doing everything in their power to get answers for what\'s going on with him. By far the best hospital I\'ve ever been to.

Updating from my experience 4 months ago: The incorrect and harmful information from the emergency room notes remains in my chart, my verbal and written complaints to the patient advocate about my degrading treatment at the ER were ignored. My neurologist and doctor arranged a standing order for me to obtain the saline infusions I sometimes NEED due to my medical conditions through the infusion department, so hopefully I never have to deal with the disrespectful and degrading treatment given by this ER again. The OMHS infusion department is fortunately great and treated me with the dignity, respect and care patients deserve. However, the emergency room staff, hospitalist, and emergency patient advocate do not seem to care..at all... about patient or family concerns. Since I don’t have the power to correct the inaccurate and harmful notes in my chart that led to inappropriate treatment, I am terrified to be taken to this emergency room ever again. My family will also never leave me alone and helpless with this ER staff ever again, even for a moment. You do NOT want your loved ones alone at the mercy of this staff. Their hospitalist needs to understand that anxiety does not CAUSE a dangerously low blood sodium of 127, connective tissue disorders, dysautonomia, joint derangement, or the need for a wheelchair (I should know with a PhD in psychology and 20 years experience..although you don’t need a PhD to figure that out). He also needs to discuss the highly inappropriate labeling of conversion disorder with a patient and family face to face instead of incorrectly writing in the discharge summary that he discussed it and the patient agreed to it, when the only thing he did was staple a handout to the discharge summary for the patient to discover later and to which the PhD level psychologist and her family would never agree if he had actually informed them and allowed their input. They really need to educate their ER staff and hospitalist about not blowing off patients (particularly women, I suspect) with serious medical concerns just because they also have anxiety. Patients with anxiety...or ANY mental health diagnosis... deserve to be treated with the same dignity and respect as anyone else. I never felt ashamed or afraid of my anxiety diagnosis until after this ER visit. It makes me afraid to admit it to new doctors after the way I was treated here. I thought we had come further than this in our treatment of people with any kind of mental health diagnoses so they don’t feel afraid to pursue treatment. Apparently, this ER isn’t there yet. They confirm the worst fears that even with serious medical concerns, a diagnosis of anxiety may prevent you from getting adequate care and compassion from some doctors and nurses because after they see anxiety...any other facts, results of tests, or diagnoses will be ignored and the patient degraded even in a medical emergency. This staff also need to at least LISTEN when families tell them a patient’s diagnoses instead of disbelieving family, the patient, and their very own medical charts. People also need to demand to be given the doctors’ notes before we leaving this ER, so any misinformation or untrue statements in their charts can be addressed with supervisors before they leave. Perhaps their hospitalist should consider reading a book such as “Doing Harm: The Truth About How Bad Medicine and Lazy Science Leave Women Dismissed, Misdiagnosed, and Sick” before his unfortunate, misinformed, antiquated, Freudian views...do more harm.

This place makes me sick! My dad passed away in April of this year. He had been in and out of the hospital so much. I don\'t even know where to begin. One time he was admitted because he woke up at home puking blood. He went to the emergency room. They put him in a room and literally let him lay for over 16 hours puking up globs of blood before they even did anything for him. He had emergency surgery and made it through that. This last time, March of this year, he spent a week there before he was sent to UK HealthCare where he passed away. It took my mom demanding an ECHO on my dad to figure out what exactly was going on. It was his mitral valve. Shouldn\'t his heart doctor been smarter than that??? There was one nurse named Michelle who was nothing more than an uncaring hateful witch. She acted like we should let my dad die while he fully knew everything that was going on and was begging for help! One time my mom went to get her because my dad\'s oxygen had dropped low and this monster could only say, \"Let me know when it runs out.\" What kind of so called nurse is that? Daddy did have some good nurses, but that Michelle was an uncaring witch who seriously needs to change careers. The kidney doctor came in there acting like we should just let him die. They sent him to UK HealthCare because they said there was not a doctor who would perform surgery on my dad. He layed in Lexington for another 3 weeks and wasted away to nothing! I watched my dad suffer for over a month before he passed. I hate this place and have no faith in doctors. All they care about is money! Take care of yourself and pray you never have to go to this rotten hospital!

My father-in-law has been admitted here on a couple occasions and has been treated well with courtesy and respect. Nurses have always been pleasant and the place is new and clean. I personally love the public art adorning the walls. Food court is not bad.

Never been a patient at the new hospital but I had labs sent there from an urgent care center. Received my bill from urgent care and paid it. Months later got a letter from a collection agency claiming I never paid a bill from the hospital (different amount from urgent care bill). I NEVER received a bill from the hospital. It was addressed to my maiden name. We called and the hospital billing department was extremely rude and claimed they sent it to our current address and blamed it on us and the postal service. Well about a week later I received an envelope full of old bills from the hospital, ALL ADDRESSED TO THE WRONG ADDRESS. So someone lied and someone isn\'t doing their job properly.

This team of doctors there could care less about people, if one doctor doesnt agree with the doctors who want to unplug vent patients, then familes are told that those who don\'t agree are NOT the doctors who make the general decisions, to me that means, those doctors have every right to just let people die, don\'t help them if they can\'t pad the pockets of the doctors who call the shots. PLEASE, DON\'T TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES THERE!!!!

I had to take my Daughter to the ER 2/27/2021.She was in severe pain from an abscess on the vaginal wall.We set there with her in pain and bleeding for 7 hours.Yes 7 hours until my daughter couldn’t set there anymore.She needed to lay down.I don’t know who gives you a number saying when you go to a room.They put her as a 5.Meaning that they didn’t think she needed to be rushed to a room.My daughter was septic and could of died.Nobody should be treated like a number and the ER could of care less how bad she was hurting. Needless to say she went to her doctor this morning and was admitted to get her pain under control and possibly surgery. I would never recommend Owensboro Regional Hospital to anyone .My Daughter could have died and they could of care less.
