Great in general, but needs more support for breastfeeding mothers. After my feeble suicide attempt they gave me more than I expected from a psych hospital. Unfortunately they made me dump ounces upon ounces of perfectly good breast milk for days on end while my son was at home with his father, steadily running out of food. With how prevalent post partum depression is and how important breast feeding is to a lot of women, this should be solved by now. It's honestly the reason I avoided treatment before I had resorted to suicide.

I admitted my daughter to Storemont Vail Mental Health and the results were great. They were able to stabilize her in 3 days. The staff was great and they kept my daughter's other Dr's and myself in the loop. I refuse to take her to the revolving door mentality of the mental health centers in the KC metro. Hopefully she will not have a relapse, but I will definitely bring her back.

I've been seeing Dr Gregory Hahn at Stormont Vail Hospital for the last year, I've come to realize every appointment I get with him ends up canceled cecuase he's never in his office. I find it strange that he's only in the office in the afternoons and 4/5 times he's still had to cancel my appointments. I definitely DO NOT recommend anyone to this facitiy, as it could cause you more damage waiting to see your doctor. It's just easier to use Valeo.

Recently stayed here on the adult ward. The staff was amazing from the moment I was admitted until I was released. I've never been to a facility before so I was quite scared, but they truly helped me.

My adult daughter was a patient here last year when she started ECT treatments as a referral from SRHC. She didn't care for the facility and lack of structure and poor groups. She did however really like the staff one-on-one and the doctor. She especially liked the woman who took her to her ECT and sat with her afterwards. The staff made the difference for her in this case.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE IDIOTS!! They forcibly took my nephew there, telling his mother that if she would not consent to the meds THEY wanted to use, they would put him into protective custody do it anyway and she would lose him. The meds they wanted her to sign off on are not approved for anyone under 13 (he is 9) by either the manufacturer or the FDA, not to mention that people in a high risk category for diabetes, which he is, must have their blood sugar closely monitored for hyperglycemia. The nurse that was there during visitation did not have a clue about any of these things and was not sure if they would be able to monitor his sugar or not!

The Nurse doesn't seem to think it's important to communicate with patients. I have had to call twice now on behalf of my wife who is a patient. I wonder and worry about the other patients who may not have someone to stand up for them.If I could give zero stars to this place I would.

My phony, fraudulent and narcissistic parents took advantage of my unfortunate postpartum difficulties to wield their hatred for myself, my husband and our family. These people pounced on our house during a postpartum incident I was having and when my husband was at work in order to coerce me to sign myself into a mental institution as part of their planned out agenda. I was coping well with postpartum difficulties - seeing our family physician and overall handling the situation smoothly until they arrived after an overnight journey. My parents are vicious and nefarious narcissists. Growing up I was one of two scapegoats and endured the grave consequences of their constant misery. I was blessed by God to find a husband who is loving and protects his family. My husband had long suspected malice in their hearts so he called the police and rushed home. By the time he arrived my smooth talking liar of a father had managed to convince the police my husband was the abuser (they know the truth now) and physically kept my husband from stopping them as they dragged me to their vehicle to continue their old abusive ways. Long story short we ended up at the "Behavior Health Center" in Topeka where they broke me down and coerced me to sign myself in. They constantly barraged the BHC with fabricated stories of how abusive my benevolent husband is and how they only want what's best for me. The "Behavior Health Center" took my parents' abominable lies at face value and adopted their designs as their own. I was regularly harassed and mentally battered in the hopes I would believe my husband and immediate family were some kind of danger to me. I was repeatedly told I was suicidal - a lie coming from my morally reprehensible so-called parents. My husband and I made repeated efforts for him to become involved with my stay at this place of horror and torment but everybody there forbade it based on the smear campaign my parents used to undermine the happy life my husband and I built up. The one meeting my husband was allowed to attend was accidental. It was documented in the record by one of the workers who entered my husband didn't make any sense when he talked about my postpartum and the history thereof. They simply brushed his valuable input aside in favor of the lies and intriguing fabrications of my parents. Psychotic drugs were pushed on me without notifying our family physician who would have explained to the BHC of my true medical history and the hormonal imbalance that takes place with my postpartum difficulties. No. No. No. They forced me to take this weird drug that alters the mind with the most tremendous headaches. So adamant were they against my husband whom they didn't even know well that they refused my calling him when I was released and had me call my parents instead. From there my parents kidnapped me and continued the horrific nightmare which the "Behavior Health Center" aided and abetted. At long last my husband and I were able to piece back together our battered family. The "Behavior Health Center" indiscriminately dispenses great harm on families and society in general. They will not listen to reason if they have wallowed in captivating lies. It is questionable if they listen to reason at all. Some of the other women gave me similar stories to mine of how they ended up there. To finally top it off my husband and I received a bill in the mail for over $500 for that terrible struggle! They will never see that money no matter how much they try to destroy our credit. Our credit score is worthless in comparison to the defense of our family. It would be morally disgraceful to send payment to build up their wealth for actions that had the one goal to completely and utterly destroy myself and my family. The BHC readily adopted the bamboozling agenda of people claiming to be concerned with my well being. Be wary - especially if there is hormonal imbalance! Stay far away from this place!
