all the doctors are foreign and the rehabilitaion is frankly juvenille and time wasted.it consists of going to theraputic classes that occupy a patients time but does little in the way of treatment of their mental illness.also the medical doctors are incompetent .and it takes weeks to see a doctor if you need to,if you see one at all for whatever is ailing you.and if you are a minority you may experience racism with little to next to nothing being done about it.

My brother recently passed away there ! Was refused timely medical treatment ! Now , God help you if you ever try to get a relatives belongings from them. All you get is the runaround ! I am 78 years old and the last thing they told me is" cant you just drive up here and pick his stuff up", I am in Dallas ,Texas area . My next step is to call my U.S. Senator and get the runaround from him also !

Admitted voluntarily in February 2017, discharged March 2017, Because I did not grow up in Kansas, I was already in a bad spot from the get go. Threatened with involuntary treatment, because I called them out on their malpractice Hit in the face by another client... what was done about it? Nothing. Tried to tell me that the security guards are police? You're joking, right? Anyone with a brainstem can notice that the badge does not say "Pawnee County Sheriff" THIS HOSPITAL MUST BE SHUT DOWN AND DEMOLISHED.

My epileptic son was admitted here for 24 hours and i cannot express how terrorizing this facility was! Not only did they fail to give him his epilepsy meds...they actually lost his pills and claimed no one knew he was supposed to be taking them! They conveniently found them after I raised enough hell. The Dr's treat you as if you are crazy and are only interested in drugging you up with psych meds. Instead of receiving compassionate treatment from the nurses, Dr's and staff...he was scared to death, no one to trust and had to prove he did not need psych drugs. I truly feel sorry for anyone that enters this facility seeking mental health treatment as you will be more disturbed than when you came in.

A Shame on you Larned State Hospital- Patient dumping- you said my mentally ill daughter was fine and you sent her to el centro california- where she was found beside apartments in 115 degree heat- She could have been killed- The state of California knows that you PATIENT DUMPED to their state- no respect for you- and caseworker- remember i recorded our phone calls-

Tell you all what. They are under staffed and over crowded. No the beds went comfy and I couldn't shave my crotch and wear makeup. It's a MENTAL HOSPITAL people. They saved my life. Twice. And I didn't appreciate it for a long time but I sure as he'll do now. Thank you Larned.

i stayed there back in 1998. the beds sucked. food too. bt at least there was staff. all and all not a bad stay considering i was trying to go some place not as nice. o you know like hell!

Was there for a short 3 days stay. Yeah and cold meals hard pillows and the damned bell boy had open every door for me. It got quite annoying. Next time I'll stay at Holiday Inn

The security out there isnt up to par. They are over loaded with other staff's jobs also. That place needs a complete overhaul of their system of doing things. They should go back to growing their own food and raising it too. It would be alot cheaper.

Dangerous place. Very un professional. Very few if any of the workers will even attempt to do anything for you. The floor staff are a joke, security is abusive, civil rights are violated, the nursing staff will force medications and nobody will provide any real help. This place needs to be investigated and workers need to be held accountable for their actions and so etimes crimes. Workers are typically inexperienced and never understanding or helpful and only try to harm patients.

Security will assult you, people lie on the floor unattended in medical need, patients will cause problems, staff will cause more problems, staff are disrespectful, unprofessional, dishonest, some not mentally sound, use of excessive force and threats most of the time and forced medications that are harmful even if you don't need them.
