I went there about 4 times during my early age from 6-9 years old. Some staff are Nice & Friendly, but there is always the Ones who act like they are Tough, and Overpowerd. They shoot Drugs up into your Body if you get Physical, They will hold you down, and Pop a shot into your Skin, which makes you pass out, or calm down. The place is Seperated into 2 Age groups, For Kids, and Teens. You got 1-3 people per bedroom you stay in. Workers stay in the hall way outside your Bedroom to make sure you doent get out of the room. The place makes you feel unconformable, and reminds you of a Jail. You got a little freedom, but they act like their so tough. I've never let them try me, I was tall, and My family owned a Local Gym, and I was 5'9, and Could lift from 200-300 pound Weights. I wouldn't take nothing from no-one, I would punch someone if they Talked Shit or Tried Anything.

Horrible place to go and substandard care. I wasn't given my long acting insulin until two days there. One nurse leaned over and asked me sarcastically if I thought I was special, I said maybe we are all special, and she said sarcastically, Yeah, special Ed. My diabetic needs were not taken care of correctly. Showers and beds were horrible. Had to beg for blood sugar checks. They kept me high on blood sugar because they aren't equipped to handle lows they said. Mind you, I went to this place voluntarily and I will never go back. Save your time and go to Brentwood.

It was OK. Some of the rules were pretty stupid. You couldn't wear a hood over your head. You couldn't whisper to each other which I kind of understand. You get nurses on days that let you have some freedom and some nurses that make you follow EVERY SINGLE rule. I really enjoyed it here. I made some new friends who I have kept in contact with till this day. There is a brief period in like midday where you have to stay in your room while nurses change shifts. Also if you feel like your having a mental breakdown then there's a room with padding where you can be by yourself. There is a station where a bunch of people watch you if your in your room at night or midday if the nurses are changing shifts. The food was good. There is a certain level you have to level up to to go eat in the cafeteria. Don't expect to eat in the cafeteria on your first day. The beds were OK. My roommate was really hyper but once he was given his medication it was all good. We had barely any tv time during the day. During nightime is when we would watch movies until bedtime. Also there was snack time as well which was cool. Most of the free time activities consisted of talking to each other,Listening to music on the radio they had and Playing cards. We would go to the gym as well like everyday. Sometimes we would go outside. We only went once or twice when I was there the 2nd time. If I had to go again then I would do it. Staff is nice except for a select few. There's one male nurse who was amazing. He did amazing at his job. We had group sessions where they taught us how to deal with our problems and therapists would call us into their office for some individual time to see how your doing. If you have a problem with somebody you can tell a nurse and they will help you the best they can. That's all.

I will never go back. They are rude and it feels like A prison. Nurse practitioner asked me if I was lying because I had been there 2 other times. I also over heard A MHT make fun of people who are in here. They use force to make you take pills and shots.

My daughter was recently admitted to this facility. I have to say I was very pleased with her treatment. The doctor took time to speak with me at length and I was very impressed that he stressed over and over again that medicine alone was not going to fix her problem. She needs very intensive therapy. He was careful not to over medicate her which is always a concern of mine. Any time I had questions the nursing staff were always patient and kind. Therapist Kim is awesome. We had 3 family sessions with her and her approach in my opinion is nearly perfect. I also have to give a HUGE shout out to the discharge planner Allison. We are trying to get a residential placement for my daughter and I have had to call her numerous times to have her send information somewhere and she is always so sweet and helpful and willing to do anything I ask right away. In a very stressful and emotionally draining time it is wonderful to have people like her to work with.

They keep patients way too long and are heavy on thee prescriptions. Sometimes they use force to administer shots that aren't even called for. Sometimes they torture patients by restraining them either to their bed or a board, and tighten the straps to cause pain, then refuse to loosen them. This is by far the worst hospital imaginable, They keep patients way too long to bilk the taxpayer and torture some of them for hours through leaving them restrained and in pain, not loosening the straps. Further more it was never clear to me why I or other patients were being restrained. Calls to 911 resulted in 911 calling Deaconess Cross Pointe. Phone use was them restricted and the abuse continued. These people are cruel abusers of many of their patients and reports to oversight agencies yield no results. Avoid this place if you can

Just picked up my son from a 5 day stay... HIS words..."they were friendly, attentive, and compassionate. I enjoyed the small group size and the variation of activities and classes. And the food was great."

Been dealing with them for a little over a year due to my fiance mother not doing so well never been so much lied to in my life like i have with them. And they don't take in thought when someone doesn't know the language here and speaks different not is not Spanish either. Didn't have a big problem until now and they will not even let us speak or see her at all the social work Christine i think is her is so rude to us. And on top of that they are using the hippa law against us when to be truthful his mom doesn't know whats going on and where is at. This stuff just makes me mad. I will never let anyone i know have to deal with this place like we have to.

Earlier this month, my husband lost his younger brother to suicide. He did not take this loss well and actually ended up being suicidal himself. I will spare all of the personal details and just say that we live in Illinois and my husband ended up in a cheap hotel in Indiana. Being a concerned wife, I called the police to get to him and stay with him until I could get there. After the police made contact with him he voluntarily went to Deaconess Gateway Hospital for an evaluation. He was "evaluated" or asked questions by an individual named Michael through a television screen. A report was then prepared based on Michael's interpretation of my husband's responses. He was told that he was going to involuntarily admitted and that he would be criminally charged if he were to leave the facility. I stressed the importance of returning home so that we could resume planning his brother's funeral service that was yet to take place.

I have been here three times (I was a troubled child), and I loved it. Of course, being a teenager, I missed my phone and my social life, but the treatment I received here was amazing. All of my techs were amazing (shoutout to Lucas and Angela. You guys are the best). It really felt homie. Everything they’ve taught me here, I use throughout my day to day life. I visited only one other psychiatric hospital, and it reminded me on why I always chose to go to Crosspointe. The food was amazing as well. They kept the kids in check in a positive way. Deaconess Crosspointe changed my life.

I went here and maybe it was just because I was used to the other place I had gone but I didn't enjoy it. The staff was kinda okay but forceful. There were fights amongst the other patients and sometimes I wasn't woken up for breakfast, lunch, dinner whatever time it was. Considering we had room time and I usually took naps to pass time, I was usually never woken up. If I was it was late. I went to Bloomington Meadows before that and it was better than Crosspointe. Helped a bit better.

Incredibly incompetent psychiatrist and rude uncaring nursing staff. I had to be rushed to the ER one night because the MD started me on a drug that was clearly contraindicated for me. As I got sicker and sicker from the drug they gave me, I begged the nurses to come from behind their desk to check on me but I laid on the floor for at least 15 minutes and only when I asked for a pan to puke in did they finally come out cuz they didnt wanna clean up a mess. MY blood pressure was off the charts and I was delirious and spent the rest of that night in the ER. Although I was there only 3 days, there are other horror stories I could tell. Let me just conclude with "dont go there".

One nurse made the other patients and I do a puzzle type thing but any time we spoke she told us to shut up. They misgendered my friend multiple times and called him by his dead name. We had to fill out a paper every morning and every night. It had a list like "did you eat?" "Are you sad?" "Do you want to hurt yourself" and "do you want to hurt others?" They never do one on one and find out your issues. I was let out in 5 days because all I had to do was check that "I ate" "I'm happy" "I don't wanna hurt myself or others" and now that I'm out in worse. Not to mention that this place (even with it being so terrible) was so expensive for my short stay that we are still having financial problems a whole year later. I can not image the bill kids who stayed longer than 5 days had to play. Staff was terrible. Living confinements were terrible. I never want to be in here ever again. They do not heal your children, they just hide their issues. This place is Hell on Earth.

Both times I've been there I didn't like it. Some therapist were OK. I didn't feel comfortable at all. Impatient we were treated like prisoners. We couldn't go outside. When I laid on the mattress my butt hit the board underneath. If you have back problems or chronic pain, it's awful. The staff was nice. But you are with people who are very disruptive and ruins therapy and the staff tried to ignore them. We were not allowed outdoors. It was under construction. No construction to be seen. You didn't have much of a choice on activities. Color, color, play cards, color and occasionally we got to watch TV. Oh, all of them sound like they read off a script. Get some new material! I WILL NEVER GO BACK!

That place is a joke...I was there again recently and nothing's changed..I always feel more suicidal than before I go in..I was given medication that did liver damage within the 5 days I was there..I kept telling the nurse and nurse practitioner I couldn't take antidepressants anyway because they only make me worse..now I know they were damaging my liver..I swear if I get prescribed one more antidepressant, the outcome won't be very good

Absolutely horrible staff. My doctor has diagnosed me with acute stress reaction and thought I may benefit from an evaluation so her office called to let them know I was coming in. I got there, filled out paperwork and was told I'd be seen soon. I waited for 2 hours and every time I asked for a rough estimate of how much longer it would be I was given a very rude response. Then they finally tell me they don't understand why I am even there and since I wasn't talking about self harm they wouldn't evaluate me even though my doctor wanted the evaluation. The girl was very rude and just shrugged her shoulder when I asked them why they let me waste 2 hours. It felt like the staff had no clue what they were doing or what was going on. Horrible staff and horrible experience. They should be ashamed of themselves, I have been through a very traumatic experience and was just looking for help.

You can’t treat adults like dogs. Was not allowed to leave my bed, even to use the bathroom. Never had an ounce of exercise or counseling. Just gave me drugs to shut me up. The last straw is a young lady put an alarm around my bed so I couldn’t move. I ripped out all of my sensors and told her I voluntarily checked in and I’m leaving. She told me I’d be dead in a week. Not even sure if she had any formal training. You’re better off locking yourself in a basement with 2 buckets.
