Avoid this place at ALL costs - they will attempt to financially extort you and/or your loved ones when they are the most vulnerable. My fiance attended for mental health help and after one of the counselors allowed other patients to verbally abuse her in a process group, she informed three different staff members that she'd be leaving that same day. They are trying to assert that 48 hour notice must be given before exiting the program and are attempting to bill us out-of-pocket for three days of "missed appointments" due to this which is RIDICULOUS. To make it clear: their policy is if someone wants to leave the program at any time, they must continue to pay for an additional two days of treatment - either through insurance or out-of-pocket. Their "billing department" is near impossible to get a hold of via email or phone no matter how many messages and follow-ups are sent; do NOT work with this provider.

Going to Suncloud was the best choice I ever made. I have so many new tools now to deal with the ups and downs of life and resources to support me since discharging. Though it meant losing my job to receive treatment for so long (and all the money lost not working), it was worth every penny to want to live again and to be better at living well.

Suncloud: Prioritizing Profits Over Patients' Well-being My 4-week experience at Suncloud was marred by several disturbing issues: Medication Errors: Nurses repeatedly attempted to administer the wrong medications, and on occasion, there were significant delays in obtaining essential meds, leaving patients without proper treatment. Neglected Hygiene/Bioharzards: The shower facilities were left in a deplorable state, with a nicotine patch remaining affixed to the wall throughout my stay. My attempts to address this with staff were dismissed. Privacy Violations: Certain treatment coordinators irresponsibly shared explicit details of past patients' traumas, including sensitive information about sexual experiences. Missed Activities: Due to inadequate staffing, many scheduled activities were routinely canceled, despite Suncloud's monthly charge of $50,000. Safety Concerns Ignored: Both staff and fellow patients frequently expressed feelings of insecurity. Shockingly, these concerns were met with indifference and dismissal from upper management. Ongoing Gaslighting: Throughout my stay at Suncloud, I often felt as though my experiences and emotions were invalidated. When I inquired about other PHP programs upon my discharge, I received a discouraging and unsupportive response. Fortunately, I have since found a remarkable PHP program where I am finally receiving the help and support I need.

My daughter went to Suncloud for support for anxiety and depression. They absolutely will not listen to any family input. They were repeatedly warned that their approach would cause issues and they caused much more harm than good. Their treatment plan caused a major depressive episode that nearly landed my daughter in the hospital. Now they are fighting us to pay out of pocket for the missed day of program. They do not care about the patient, only the bottom line. They have very rigid requirements for participation. Be careful!

I went into SoundCloud broken and came out repaired. I was addicted, depressed, anxious, and self-harming, and SunCloud staff helped me improve all of that through amazing 1 on 1 counseling, 12 step and self-help groups, healthy socialization, medication, and tons of patience and quality care. Staff, with their humanistic, dedicated BHS/techs (Go Ana! Lara! Monica! Tee!), nurses (All staff exceptional!), therapists and psychiatrists (Go Kelly! Dr. Mehta!), and others, listened, coached, and educated, while showing great concern and interest in helping me become whole again. They worked hard to bring calm and mindfulness out in me and the other patients through psych, medical, substance, food, yoga, art, and queer therapies. Yes, there are rules and schedules, but they are fair, doable, and have obvious therapeutic purpose. Nope, you can't smoke, but you do have access to phones, computers, TV (with Netflix, Spotify, YouTube, Disney +, etc.), the outside, and fitness daily. While they have some temperature issues-- bring a sweater/hoodie no matter the time of year as parts of the place get chilly, it is clean and comfortable. Their yoga instructor (Go Whitney!), chef, food staff, and food are beyond wonderful. Outpatient/aftercare in Chicago was just as helpful and professional. It's my eight-month sobriety anniversary and I am still improving: I am working again, and I am grateful to be alive. Much of that I owe to SunCloud staff for lifting me back up, giving me the tools I needed, and teaching me to keep heading in the right direction. Please all staff know: You are making a difference and changing lives! If you really want help and are ready to work hard to make your life better-- something you've got to decide to do for yourself and then actually DO, I can't recommend a better team or agency to help you get there and stay there!
