The staff was extremely nice and helpful. I was tested and treated for my illness properly. I was very irritable due to lack of sleep and being really sick and they were still extremely helpful and sweet. For being a small hospital and the only one in the area it was still a good experience all three visits I've had!

Worst hospital in the world my husand ws recently there and when his iv was going crazzy they turned the call light off and nobody came in to tun it off for an hour and half then we sit there for 5 hours waiting for all the tests results then to find out they give wrong diagnoses are they ever gonna hire doctors that actualy knows what they are talking about

Took 2 hours to get into a room sent us out to the waiting room twice. Then another 3 hours to get a cat scan. Worst hospital experience! Staff was rude and not helpful at all.

This hospital is the worst hospital in the county. I went to their convenient care for fever and they said they need to do some tests so I had to go to the hospital. The hospital did a mouth swab test and sent me a bill for $400 and convenient care sent me a bill for another $200, in spite of me not going back to see the results. In all, this hospital has only one motive, make money, not serve people. Their doctors are all poorly educated from Caribbean and China and the staff are rude.

Honestly every time I’ve been here I’m here all day. I know ER’s take long but not to this extent. The first time I went my boyfriends ear was bleeding and some guy came in 2 hours after we did and they took care of him first. Keep in mind there was NO ONE in the hospital. They kinda giggled when we complained and said they have no idea how that happened. I went in for appendix pain and my stomatch was literally bruising by the minute and they didn’t treat me for at least 5 hours. I showed them and hey said it was a pinch, but how can it be a pinch if it was progressively getting larger. Thank god i only came here a handful of times. I gave them 2 stars because at the end of the day they do treat you, but only if youre willing to wait all day.

Just returned home after ACL reconstruction with Dr. Urch and my experience from start to finish was amazing. Dr. Urch was very helpful and compassionate in the office and all the way through surgery and post-op. All of the staff was very friendly and provided excellent care during my experience. I’m very grateful to have this level of high quality care in Macomb.

Yesterday my family was involved in a very serious car accident. 3 were life-flighted from the scene and two were taken by ambulance to MDH. They were amazing with this situation! They took every precaution you could have asked to take care of my loved ones. They ran every test you could have expected to make sure they were going to be fine. Knowing we had the stress of the families being separated due to three children being separated to three different hospitals by the end of it, they handled the situation very well. The nurses and ED staff were constantly checking on them to make sure they were okay, they were asking about our other loved ones that were in the other hospitals, and they were so friendly and comforting. I know the Paramedics and EMT's that worked the scene couldn't have made better decisions for my niece and nephews. One was discharged, last night. Two are awaiting surgery in Peoria and Blessing. I can't say thank you enough! Our lives could have been changed forever if your EMS didn't know how to handle the scene. Now we are going to have a very slow recovery to wellness for a few, but we have them because of you and your well-trained staff! So thank you!

I find MDH to be a friendly place to visit. The staff is always cheerful and willing to assist. My doctor is the best! The admitting area is well-managed and keeps the wait for tests down to a minimum.

I wish it was possible to give negative stars. My fiancé goes to school in macomb and has been having pains in her stomach and back area. While she was home a week ago we went to the ER at our hospital and they found the problem and told her to call her doctor if it continued. This afternoon she called her doctor explaining that her pain has continued and he said to go back to the ER. Since our hospital is an hour and a half away we decided it would be best for her to come here. She got here around 2:30pm while I drove an hour and a half to be with her. By the time I got here she was still in the waiting room so I sat with her until around 6pm by the time they finally got her to a room. Then they sent in a student to evaluate her and we sat for another hour before they realized that they forgot to pick up the her urin sample. Another hour later she called them back in because by now it's nearly 8pm and we decided we'd like to be discharged so I can drive her back home so they can actually figure out what's wrong and come to find out we can't leave unless she signs an against medical advice form which would cause the cost to be charged to us personally rather than insurance. This place is a pathetic excuse for a hospital and we will NEVER be coming back. If this was a real emergency I don't think anyone would be able to even make it back to the room alive. I wouldn't bring my goldfish here. I guess we have to continue to wait until they finally decide to let us go so we can drive all the way home to figure out the problem. Thank you very much McDonough District Hospital for your wonderful Emergency Room care and your willingness to help people in need.

Went in with dog bites, all they did was clean it up and put anti-bac on it. Mind you my hand was still bleeding, super swollen, bruised, and had little to no mobility in my fingers by the time I got out. All they gave me was a prescription for antibiotics. They did not wrap my hand before I left. Didn't offer ice or clean gauze for me to stop the bleeding. Staff that helped me was very nice. But for that expensive of a visit including X-rays I expected more. I could have done all this at home and I knew I didn't need x-rays. Could have saved myself and my dog the humility. I will be driving back home to Chicago from now on, for any issues. I might as well die than go to this facility. This is my 5th bad experience here. Coming from a medical background from my mom being an amazing nurse to always taking trips to the ER for being clumsy and accident prone I am VERY DISAPPOINTED.

It's unfortunate that this hospital is so lame. My experience has been lame at best. Without going into detail, I feel they took my emergency situation as though I was asking for more napkins in a restaurant. They are expensive and have a problem coding properly so the insurance company can bill so the patient can receive the er visit discount. I lost my primary dr three times because they over on to "greener grass." The nail in the coffin was when my insurance changed, the mdh network does not take it. I suppose they don't pay out enough. Thankfully, I went to the Carthage hospital network and have been supremely happy. Great service, and a 5% discount if paid in 30 days. Love my dr and the hospital actually takes my issues seriously. All the poor reviews are well deserved for mdh. It's too bad.

Between myself, my daughter, and my husband, we have had horrible experiences and bedside manner. With my daughter, they risked other people getting chicken pox. Myself, long wait time which was uncalled for. With my husband, 2 visits for the same exact thing but with worsening conditions and do basically the same thing and says they can't order CT scans when I know it's a lie that I had one done on myself in the er. I will never go back to mdh emergency room ever again because of how they done us all.

I wish I could give no stars. THEY TOLD US OUR BABY WAS DEAD. My wife and I went in because she was having some light cramping during early pregnancy. They were so preoccupied with the idea of two women having a baby together that they didn't listen to us at all. They told us our baby was dead because they thought she was further along than what we had told them.

Almost as bad as carthage hospital.... I went there for a bad allergic reaction and they said couldnt do much so i left came back the next day with same problem even though it was really bad to begin with
