A terrible facility for any youth. This place is a joke. Only one staff member is really concerned about the students who have been placed there and that's Mrs. Elizabeth,she's really good at keeping you informed. I had a grandson there for 3 years and Kemmerer Village didn't give him the help they claim.

i work here and I get to see kid's lives changed for the better every day. They are offered individualized care, therapy, and experiences that many children in their situations don't get in their every day lives. Working at Kemmerer Village is a blessing!

I was a resident for about 2 years. I absolutely resented it while i was there. But now that im an adult and think about what they helped me with in life its life changing. Yeah at the time i would of not recommended it to anybody. But Marsh cottage made me somthing i can say i am proud of in life. I am now 22 years old. Clean off drugs. Making 19$ a hour working in the hillsborro,illlinois patton coal mine. I respect the little things in life now. I absolulety adore mrs amber and the work she does with the children at the horse barn and how she lets people that most have lost hope in help others. I especially wanna throw a big shout out and thank you to Mr.Arius Young Les Rey And Scott Ole. Them particular staff i owe my life too. Mr arius taught me never to give up in life no matter waht the obstacle. And to stay a1. Hope u read this mr a1 MOISHHH and mr ray taight me what it is to be a man. This man would dedicate hours everyday just working with me. He taight me 2 cycle motor mechanics. Just stuff my "dad" never did for me. And mr.ole god did we butt heads. But you know what you taight me to respect authority because even if it seems wrong to you its the right thing and not everything in life will go ur way its how you portray yourself while dealing with it that shows you what type of man you are. I hate to give bad reviews. I think there has been tremendous good that has been done at kemmerer village. I mean that sincerely. At the same time there has been a lot of bad. The bad mostly from people that refuse help or personally roadblock their help or healing processes. I hate to give it such a low mark, for that I am sorry guys. Godbless you all, you do amazing work. In the end its the people that have to accept that change and improve themselves. One would think that they would totally accept the help that would boost them even more. Keep fighting the good fight.

Kemmerer Village will hire anybody they can get their hands on as staff. Half the staff don’t even stay more than a month or two after being hired.

I was a resident here about a year ago. Some of the staff were very physically and emotionally abusive, and actually harmed me from getting my treatment. I would never wish anyone to go here

I came to kemmerer looking for treatment. Except for a few staff members I was completely alone. I was completely baffled at how such a place could run for this long. Everything they promised me was a lie. It was only by the grace of God I made it out alive. This is not a place for children. It's not a place for anyone.

I will not deny that some people benefit from this place, or places like it. But before you think about sending your child here, please look into the troubled teen industry and all of the horrors that go with it. Just as many that have been helped, have been traumatized and left worse off than they were before.

This facility had a child predator working for them. A facility that is run partially through DCFS, had a man (Christopher J Wessling) working for them and assaulting residents. They also had Savannah Weiss working for him at the same time she murdered her 3 year old child. Both cases are in court dockets and publicized should anyone want to read up on the events. While being a resident there, I also witnessed staff members abusing residents. Kemmerer Village is not a safe place for children.

Kremmer village has hateful people working there and they dont do right by any means instead of giving a baby to its grandma give the baby to a completely totally stranger dont know how baby is doing and dont know how baby is getting treated

I lived in this place for about 4 years under DCFS care I was beaten locked in rooms they called acute care. There were magnetic locks on the doors. This girl I knew lived there her name was Clowey was sexually abused by the staff. Mr. Clow there where 2 of them claimed to be brothers. I was a troubled but since i was used to abuse and being told they was going to hold me in their care until I was 21. I started fighting back and won. I was charged with 3 counts of battery. when I turned 19 and got out of the place thanks to the changes because the state could no longer keep me in the place. Calling me a threat to the staff it all disappeared off my record even know the changes were changed as adult. At 17. It was a manger. Cover up. They have covered up sexual and physical abuse for years and even go by false names or made-up last names. Even going as far as not allowing you to leave for not going to church. They used to make us wear colored shirts gold bronze silver and Orange. There is very few things I am proud of in life for fighting. But this place needs to be investigated all the way back to 1994. Only one person has been arrested in this place that has worked there but trust me all the people in town work there and should all be investigated.
