Your first contact with this clinic on the phone consists of this: "Please enter you insurance card now". Wow. No "hello" or "how might we help you". I feel SO "cared about". That, along with the FABULOUS reviews about this place, REALLY make me want to trust them with my mental health. Garbage in, garbage out. Sad that this is the BEST we can do as a society that tells you to "ask for help". **2/15/19 - IN-REPLY: Sorry, Janis. While I appreciate your reply, I think I'll go somewhere that DOESN'T have an orderly who brags about how many "tackles" he's performed this week. "You only get one chance at a first impression". Everyone gets brought here the same way and nobody knows why. They hold you here against your will and feed you poorly, treat you horribly, amd require you to give blood consistantly while you are there. As a tax paying American, I'd start to go crazy after day one. No wonder why this place is still in business.

Good luck getting in contact with anyone unless you have an appointment scheduled-- and that appointment won't be until 2 months down the road! I've had numerous occasions where I needed to get up with counselors or therapists for my case manager and nobody will return any calls.

Doctor metholda and many other doctors here need to be investigated for insurance fraud not to mention the Baker act pysh ward I previously posted on another one of these where police took me to one of these locations stripped me of my 2nd amendment rights i legally had a ccw and a valid firearm purchased and they showed up had me committed over a utube video that they alleged I made . Upon arrival to this place they give you medicine lock doors treat you as a prisoner spoke to the female doctor in the morning she even admitted I did not need to be there I told her had my lawyer looking at filing a lawsuit against police and this place she then preceded to say is this your insurance card and boom I was there for 3days oh and if you refuse medicine even if the medicine is equivalent to the drugs u find on the street can guarantee it is as most of those drugs are not backed by science . Oh if you refuse medicine or blood work or dont eat all your food guess what that's another couple days they kept me in there for 5days would not keep me past 7 because they know they can not and would not get approved for a court order . They need to be investigated for insurance fraud . By local law enforcement agencies and a serious investigation needs to be underway. These people have gotten away with a crime for far too long . Not to mention stripping me of my second amendment God given rights the same rights this great country was founded on by liberty and law the right to bear arms .

Its funny how they are quick to respond to your reviews with the same over played apology like they care about their clients. Because they don't. My boyfriend has run out of medication that he RELIES on numerous times. You would think that a place that is literally existing to help those with mental illnesses would actually do their job in order to help those who need it. No one answers the phone. They do not return calls .And they most certainly do not put any effort into arranging appointments. Its discouraging and honestly causes more complications than help. Congratulations Baycare.

This place sucks!! I really can't believe a child psychiatrist referred me to this mess of an office when I aged out of her practice. I've been seeing a provider here for at least 2 years, and in that time, I've run out of my medication countless times, had appointments cancelled on me out of the blue, and I've even driven up there 30 minutes away from home just to find out my appointment for that day was cancelled and no one notified me. They claimed to have called me but I never received a call or voicemail and I only have 1 phone number. God forbid your appointment gets cancelled and you run out of refills. I've called and left messages for the nurse so many times begging for refills (and they're not even controlled substances). No one answers the phone. EVER. The only way to get refills is by physically going there and demanding to speak to a nurse. I'm a pharmacy tech at the pharmacy where I get my medications, and I PERSONALLY have faxed the office multiple times from the pharmacy to get refills for myself. ALL refill requests go unanswered. I love my doctor when I actually get to see her. But this place has me wanting to find a new one. STAY FAR AWAY. This office is an absolute JOKE!

I'm giving two stars only because I have good experiences with one of the psychiatrists and one of the ARNPs. Once you're in the back, in my experience, all is well. However... They do not answer their phones. I work with adults with developmental disabilities and own a fairly large agency... unfortunately two of our individuals choose to go to BayCare. Both of these individuals are unable to effectively speak on the phone or make/keep their own appointments. However, they are sound of mind in most other capacities. I have signed waivers to be able to make appointments for them and speak on their behalf to make/change appointments. However it has made absolutely no difference that I have signed these forms. I think they fell into an abyss somewhere. The front desk has no access to them and will not allow me to talk to them about either of the individuals. Two weeks ago they made my physically disabled client come into the reception just to stand there as I made her an appointment (I came in because again no one ever answers the phone and this is literally the only way to accomplish anything) As of late, one of the individuals has been having a medication issue that requires quick resolution. I called every day for three weeks to no avail. Since coming here as of two years ago, I have yet to ever get through the first time. Anyway, I happened to have an appointment with the other individual so I talked to the lady at the front. I said I have not been able to get through for three weeks now and this individual is not in good shape. The receptionist basically told me I was lying and that there was no way I was calling every day. She then told me Brandi probably didnt call me back because she has been out and Dr Hanna is only here two days a week. So basically that means if someone has a medication issue and the Dr isnt there and the assistant is out, you are left to suffer or get Baker Acted. Again, the receptionist would not speak to me about him and told me he needs to have a legal guardian. He does NOT need a legal guardian. People hear "mental retardation" and they immediately assume he cannot make any decisions for himself. He simply slurs on the phone and cannot remember dates very well so him making his own appointment is not the best idea. But if someone needs help with making appointments it does not mean they require legal guardianship...asinine. that is pure ignorance for the special needs community. The receptionists are extremely rude overall and I just never get anywhere with anyone. It has been over three weeks and my client asks about the medication every day but I still have no answers for him because no one will call me back. I will be bringing him in in person and standing in reception until they resolve it. This is literally the only way to get anything done with Baycare. Sad.

I’m stunned that my son missed his appointments and has to be reassessed no appointment available until July! He is going to be out of meds, and the only thing to do is to call back everyday to see if there is a cancellation? Going off his meds that he clearly needs will not be good. So disappointed in the response that I was given.

Taken in because I couldn't stop crying after a domestic dispute with my boyfriend, tackled twice while I was there by Bobby, who could probably use anger management because tackling was his first method of choice instead of talking or trying to reason with me or any patient on any level. He had the guts to say " My 6th tackle this week " They of course injected me during my tackles and twice DID NOT tell me (OR anyone who was on my medical release) which medicine was being used on me. I use to be a CNA and still work AND study in healthcare (Biomedical Engineering currently) and I have to agree that this place is a joke. MOST of the RNs are stereotypical RNs that don't lift a finger other than to type on the computer, especially Kim. There will be more than just a bad review and a letter to the CEO from me. If I didn't have problems before, I certainly did during my stay at BayCare. There were a few decent staff members that actually put on some music for us, considering the lack of activities to do while there, my secondary doctor was amazing, two gentlemen were also very considerate of the patient's well-being and feelings and if I can get names I will revise this post. However, steer clear of doctor Medathola because he is a HUGE part of the pill mill problem, especially among Pasco County. Don't forget the fat paycheck they get when they prescribe specific medications to you, half of the patients were prescribed the SAME medication as I was prescribed (Trileptal (Oxcarbazepine)), that is a huge red flag alone, other than the fact that he only saw patients 5 minutes at a time and the patient was NEVER right. He was trying to court order me to stay longer and force my medication on me but my secondary doctor did not feel the same, thankfully. One of my better experiences had to be being a shoulder to lean on and an open ear for the other patients that were there with me. Steer clear of this place at all costs, they should retrain, fire their staff or even CLOSE DOWN THE BUILDING. I heard horror stories of this place when I was growing up and also while I was a CNA. Now I have horror stories of my own and I'm only 24!

Worst place to go for behavior health. Took my teenage son for for counselling in June and after his 2nd appointment, I was told they would need to call me to schedule the next appointmemt. Never received a phone call even after calling twice to request his 3rd appointment scheduled. Finally gave up since communication and service is horrible. Just received a phone call which I declined so they could leave a message. Immediately received a 2nd call from the same number for his Pschologist appointment which has been scheduled since MAY and is now less than 24 hrs away to tell me the doctor wants to cancel because my son hasn't had 3 months of counselling. Excuse me but we tried to schedule appointments but your company wouldn't return phone calls to schedule the appointment. Avoid this place at all cost. Extremely unorganized and rude employees at the reception desk.

My son was clearly irrational, despondent, delusion, had a break from reality, , and sufferering from memory loss. He was marchman acted because he had a history of drug abuse. After a couple of days I was called down to become his proxy because he would not cooperate. At the appointment I told them under no circumstances was he to be released to my address. He needed to go to a halfway house. Also as his proxy I was expecting anything they did they would contact me. He was released just a couple of days later and they sent him via taxi to my address. He was not helped one bit, but worse than that, my life and my job were put in jeopardy. I could not leave him alone with my 87 yr old mom, and disabled sister. I am seriously contacting an attorney for them. I have left several messages for the discharge planner for clarification and he has never called me back.

Therapist Lisa Metzinger is the WORST ! After 1 session with her, I went back to Drinking after a 5 year sobriety. Almost died from drinking 1/2 gallon of vodka immediately after our session. Her license should be revoked. She caused more Grief than she fixed. HIGHLY UnRecommended ! ....btw,. My first review was deleted. This one made 6months after seeing her, and I been drinking since then. Go anywhere but here ! See anyone but her !

Absolutely the nicest and most compassionate staff I have ever dealt with in a detox facility. Especially the night staff and in particularly registered nurse Amy and mental health tech Sue. The only negatives people said about the facility while I was a client was they weren’t medicated enough, which just shows that are not ready for recovery. In my opinion the detox protocol was as painless as I ever had experienced. I believe it is owed the the compassion of the staff. I love you guys and will recommend this facility to anyone experiencing mental health or substance abuse issues.

I was recently a patient at the ISU and i can say it was a great experience and is a great step in getting my life back together. All of the Tech's were great and very professional and took time out of their day to personally speak with each patient. Getting to meet with the Dr daily to go over your previous day and go over your plans after discharge was very helpful. The groups and meetings throughout the day were very informative and helpful. Discharge Management (Michalena) was very informative on follow up instructions to ensure proper care continues after discharge. Not to mention you are fed very well and will never go hungry.

I can’t believe no one has done anything to improve this facility to its processes. Pamela who did my intake has no business working with people with mental health issues or who are in crisis mode. She is rude, abrasive and could easily push someone to the point of subside. Please, get her training and remove her from working with us until she has improved. Also, why don’t you ever return calls? I’ve called every day for three days and have yet to get a call back. The office needs some serious oversight, and process changes.

My experience relates to a client New Port Richey Baycare placed in one of my apartments. The tenant violated the lease several times by having a dog. I therefore did not renew her lease and she refused to leave. When finally evicted, she left the apartment in horrible condition. When I contacted the Baycare case worker, she apologized but took no responsibility even though the case worker admitted in writing that the person she placed had behavioral issues. However, I wasn't provided that information when the tenant was placed. Unimaginable!! Landlords, avoid Baycare tenants!!

There has been years of problems with this place but most recently this was the last straw. Despite a sign dictating masks have to be worn at all times while inside the building and they had a security guard in the front, no individuals were wearing their masks inside. None of the patients. None of the receptionists. None of the doctors. No one. This "rule" has not been enforced in the slightest and has resulted in one of my family members - an immunocompomised compromised family member - contracted COVID from their visit. This is the *only* place they leave the house for as they suffer from severe agoraphobia and initially refused to provide an *SAFE* alternative to going in to the offices. My brother was finally able to schedule a telehealth appointment for today, the day I'm writing this... only for them to tell him that they don't do telehealth, they have never done telehealth (yet they did for the pandemic), and proceeded to make him wait for another TWO AND A HALF HOURS for his appointment. And when the doctor, SUSAN HANNAH, finally contacted my brother she had the audacity to not only say that we were lying about the conditions of their office, but proceeded to mock and belittle my brother for his conditions and refuse to provide his prescriptions because he was being "disruptive" as he was upset that not only did they get him sick and nearly kill him but then refused to even provide a service they had previously provided and blamed *him* for it. Every single person in this office deserves to be fired and the building torn down and replaced with something more helpful. Even McDonald's would be better suited in that location - at least they wear masks.

Don't believe the good reviews. I totally believe the bad reviews. Remember as I was asked to as an hotel employee to write a good one after a bad one. They treat you like a criminal of you have an addiction. Mine alcohol in the privacy alone never getting to the Point of falling down or combative. You got to strip down and asked about a scar on my breast of a spider bite. You don't get your medications phoned in if even have insurance like I had. I didn't have a dui I wad never arrested but asked stuff like have you been combatic with neighbors. Omg I would never face anyone tipsy. Just because you drink tocombat anxiety doesn't mean you become ugly or disgustingly drunk like cops . I'm asked to pees in a bathroom in front of a counselor whatever and I dint drive have a phobia and calls to come in for test but I'm not a criminal why?? I don't like someone watching me pee. Your treated like dirt. Told to put my big pants girl on and grow up and no lie since I said I'm dependent on having my man in my life. As a mental health provider your to build one up not put them down. I could say so many other comments of how low they made me feel. They made me feel like scum after providing 13 years as caregiver to my Mom before she passed and a caregiver has no social life so when she passed 5 years prayer I became dependant on alcohol on depression and anxiety. I'm not scum like they treated me. Believe me get out of this area if baycare us your only provider.
