From a visitors point of view I would say that I was treated nicely by all staff except for a female counselor. She spoke to me very rudely like I was less than her. Not professional behavior to talk to someone who came for a visit. Everyone else was very nice and the program seems to be helping the client i went to visit. Im just bothered by how i was spoken to.

I have completed 11 years of sobriety thanksvto the Pines..Edsel was.my counselor and he wasngreat..but mostly I needed to be away from everything and the 90 day stay provided a solid detox..Ivwssxa self pay and $1800 a month was a deal...the place is old and buildingv1 for new arrivals smells like asd because of the chemicals coming out ofbus but no doubt the Pines savrd my life

This was the worst experience of my life they had a horrible staff was treated horribly no bathrooms received Zero counseling zero medical they did nothing but punish people for nothing it was detrimental to me I had many things stolen money a sentimental cross for my grandfather my trade licenses and IDs which were locked in their lockers please don’t call her or send anybody you know to this rehab

Definitely more negative than positive things to say about this program. Being a client there during the time of COVID was very stressful. There was no organization or consistency. I’ll acknowledge that there are some great councilors and administrative people that work there who really do care and want to see you succeed. There unfortunately is a handful of employees there who could care less. It felt like they enjoyed being an authoritarian. Enforcing the rules, being bossy and rude about it. It makes it hard to focus on what you’re truly there for. Drama and favoritism is apparent. Too much down time and not enough time in group counseling. The food is good though. All together my personal experience was very unpleasant and depressing. I hope things can turn around for this program. It’s there to save lives!

Speaking from the family member of a client, there is no way to contact employees/counselors to discuss how we can be a part of rehab and therapy, to learn how to be supportive and such. They have one phone number and about 5 choices, but nobody answers or returns calls. The technology available today should allow interested parties to send emails but there is no directory. And based on what I hear from my family member, everyone is treated like a criminal if one person offends. Though SOME people are there because of court orders, some people are there by choice because they want to make a change. They should have separate accommodations and have their hard work acknowledged. The people there by choice have also chosen to be away from their families and homes and sometimes jobs. Grown men being treated like a prisoner or petulant child because of someone else’s poor choices is poor program management. I think the employees need a refresher on empathy and client interactions and maybe some employees positions at the program should be reviewed. It seems like a number of the employees are on a power trip by treating clients poorly and with contempt. Maybe the board of directors should be notified and fully informed I will say, I have been informed that some recent programming changes and added activities seem to be a positive. And the classes and counseling seem to help. My family member was adamant about coming home in 30 days but now knows he needs more complete coping skills and wants to stay for 90 so as not to take the chance of failing when he’s home. UNFORTUNATELY, the program is trying to move him on to the next level even though he is adamant he is not ready.
