How do you know if you are alcoholic?

Drinking aid my ability to peel myself out of my house and be social but I dont think it works like it used to. I used to be happy whenever I drank and ive been told multiple times that I am mean when I drink? How do you know if you are alcoholic... is this something that alcoholics do?

Everyone reacts differently to alcohol, including alcoholics. It concerns me that you say you cannot be social without drinking. That is definitely something that could point to a problem. Being mean when you drink probably means you should not drink. Try giving it up for a month. If you are not able to do that, seek addiction help.

Why doesn't work like it did before? Do you mean it takes more alcohol to reach the same level of social ability? If so, then yes, I would say you are venturing into addiction territory.
