Despite feeling that i'm just over reacting and being paranoid, the thought that my son is smoking weed is unshakable and I'm in desperate need of suggestion and advice... How can I tell if my son is smoking weed?

If your son is smoking weed then what should happen is this- sit down and talk with him as if it is an adult to adult conversation, ask him whats been going on with him with out accusations. Then based on his responses ask him permission to drug test, it puts the ball in his court. If it turns out he is smoking weed you can offer him options like outpatient treatment or even a short-term rehab.
