I have a high rate of cancer within my immediate family. Almost every adult on both my father and mother's side of the family have had some sort of cancer. Being that I am already cancer prone, will smoking marijuana increase the possibility of me getting lung cancer?

To put it simply: we don't know. There are many studies being done seeing if there is a connection between marijuana and cancer, but more needs to be done. I can say, however, that smoking marijuana is really bad for your lung health. Even though it isn't a cigarette, you're still inhaling smoke and ash, and because you tend to inhale deeply and hold your breath longer, leaving you susceptible to things like chronic bronchitis. So if you're already prone to diseases, it may be best to just hold off on smoking anything.

Smoking marijuana is known to have adverse effects on lung health in general. A lot of the carcinogens found in tobacco smoke are also found in the smoke from Marijuana so, it definitely does not help your chances.
