Can klonopin cause depression?

Will Klonopin cause me to be depressed if im on it for long enough? Ive been on this drug for about 3 years now and I am depressed beyond comprenhension with no desire or motivation to live my life.

says that klonopin dependency can cause things like anxiousness, lake of interest in activities, depersonalization, feelings of loss or sorrow and depression. Although klonopin is prescribed to help treat some of these feelings a dependency on them can also create these feelings. Other things that come in tow with a dependency on klonopin include pain, sweating, stiff muscles and joints, flu like symptoms diarrhea, fainting, paralysis, trembling blurred vision and even brain damage in rare cases.

klonopin side effects is a long list but depression is not on that list. Birth defects, seizures, hallucinations yes, but not depression, its Im right I believe klonopin is used to treat things like depression, not cause it.

Im not sure if you are aware of this or not but there is a serious public health issue as a result of prescription drug abuse of antidepressants like clonazepam. talks about the some 54 million individuals have used prescription drugs in a non medical way at least once. I dont think klonopin causes depression, I think it like many other conditions are caused by the abuse of drugs. Prescription medications are prescribed by a doctor for a reason. Because they are trained to know how much of each medication your body can handle to treat your problem. When you dont listen to the doctor is when you start having problems, like depression.
