The teen boy of a family friend is experiencing some serious psychotic episodes and the medics stated it's probably because of street drugs. He keeps screaming to make the voices shut up, can you get paranoid schizophrenia from street drugs?

If the kid has schizophrenia waiting to come out drug use can trigger this. But it is possible that he is just going through a drug psychosis that will end. The family should consider putting the teen through a mental health facility or rehabilitation center, drugs can and will ruin his life.
