In recent weeks I asked my kid if he was doing heroin. I asked because he sleeps all the time and falls asleep even when sitting down. He told me no that it was xanax and that he would stop. Lately I've been in contant thought about it, does xanax contain opiate?

Sometimes doctors give patients xanax for anxiety disorders. Eventhough it is a prescription drug xanax is abused by teenagers to adults and the effects are very similar to opioid abuse, there aren’t opiates in xanax itself.

No opiates are present in xanax pills as they are classified as benzodiazpines.
