My husband is telling me I should let him take codeine pills for the pain he is experiencing since its not considered an opiate. I need to know if my husband is lying to me.

Pain pills are opiates including codeine. It is addictive and gets a person high. I'm glad you asked for information elsewhere and best of luck.
