Although doctor treatment plans are necessary for drug rehab (meaning- your doctor must claim that rehab is needed and set up a treatment plan for you) medicare will cover drug rehabilition.

There are different levels of Medicare, so its not a straight answer. Its certain that it covers some form of treatment for addicts, but whether that is inpatient rehab or some other kind of treatment is determined by the kind of policy you have. Part A almost certainly does cover hospitalized recovery, and if youre an alcoholic or heroin addict, then you should really go through an inpatient program. Other drugs can be detoxed at home, but you can get some support from Medicare.

Thankfully, medicare paid for my wifes drug rehab. At first we didn’t know if it would but got her to the treatment place for admission immediately when she said she was ready to go. We have medicare for health insurance and had no problems getting coverage for the services she recieved.

Medicare does have some options for treatment and recovery. It may not cover a stay in a luxury facility for a few months, but you definitely can get some form of medical help covered, whether that is medicine for your withdrawal, counseling, support or . If you cant understand your policy, simply call one of these facilities and they will advise.

If you have Medicare, then you are allowed to access some kind of treatment for your addiction, but it may not cover rehab. Samsha has been working with facilities all across the country to increase the number of qualified and trained people so that there are quality outpatient services too. With its clear that there is still the idea that it costs too much, and not everyone is aware that there is financial assistance and insurance to help cover costs.
