  5. How long after stopping suboxone do withdrawals start?
Asked: 2018-08-26 11:23:00
I’ve been taking Suboxone as part of a treatment program for a little over a year. I’m tired of being on any type of drugs, and I think that I’m ready to be completely sober. I want to stop taking my Suboxone cold turkey, how soon will I experience withdrawals and how intense will they be?

Withdrawals will begin within the first 24 hours of stopping Suboxone. They’ll probably be the strongest around the 72-hour mark and be like opiate withdrawal. Go off of Suboxone little by little instead of all at once. This lets your body get used to smaller doses and makes it so the withdrawals won’t last as long. You can still expect to be dealing with the symptoms for up to a week after your last dose.

It’s important to speak with your doctor before you just stop. Most people recommend tapering off of Suboxone instead of trying to go off of it all at once. nausea, tremors, insomnia, body aches for like the first week. After this, you’ll be dealing with psychological addiction more than physical.
