Can you have withdrawals from tramadol

Tramadol has been part of my life for approximately a year now. My predicament is that last week I started a job at a new place and in the same week the doctor I go to for tramadol told me that I need to get off of it soon for some other medical reason. Can you withdrawal from taking tramadol to not taking it at all? Like, will I be going through withdrawals for a while? I feel confused and scared. I was and still am excited about my new job and I dont want to mess it up and lose my opprotunity at this new place.

Sorry to hear you are going through frustrating times. To help you take some load off.. you should be okay and withdrawals from tramadol shouldnt be to bad to the point your unable to work. Another point i would like to bring up is that doctors commonly get you on a plan to taper down off the drug you are trying to stop. Abruptly stopping a drug has never been good for anyones health.
