Can you have withdrawals from suboxone

My girlfriend has been clean from heroin for over a year now and to help her get off and stay clean from heroin, she got on a maintence program that involves a drug called suboxone. Because its been a year she plans on coming off of it, but im worried its going to be harder than she and I both were prepared for. We went out on saturday night with a group of friends and she had forgotten to take it before we left for the night and the results sucked. We had to bail on our friends because she got sick beyond belief. Was her sickness caused from withdrawals and can you actually have withdrawals from suboxone or no?

When I went through withdrawals coming down off suboxone it was require me to bear-down and handle severe body aches and sick-like feelings but again in my case it wasnt like it was when I was withdrawaling from heroin.. in my opinion that was way worse.
