Can you die from Xanax withdrawal?

I've had a prescription for xanax for as long as I can remember. It used to help me feel better but I believe it is doing the opposite nowadays. Is it dangerous if I withdrew on my own from it? Or can you die from xanax withdrawal. I dont know anyone who knows awnsers to this so I decided to come here and ask to maybe get some answers.

Yes, this girl who used 200 mg in six days and then quit cold turkey on her own, she died 4 days later, it is super dangerous to withdraw on your own.
