Why is alcohol addictive?

Why is drinking so addictive? I’ll order one drink and before I know it I’ve already had seven more.

Everything is addictive if you think about it. However, alcohol is chemically known to be addictive because it releases dopamine in the brain. If you’re having a hard time with limiting your drinking I would try and talk to a few close friends or family members about it before things get worse. Good luck.
