Why do people abuse marijuana?

I’ve always been told that pot is harmless and that it’s no big deal. But—I’ve literally seen people spend their rent money on their next bag. Why do people take it too far and abuse marijuana?

Marijuana can cause psychological addiction just like any other drug. Yeah, the chemicals in it can be used for some good things, but someone will always take it too far. People sometimes try and self-medicate or prefer staying high because they see it as a way to hide from their problems
