My wife had surgery for the removal of kidney stones and a cyst she had. The Dr put her on pain pills, but now a year later she is still taking the pills. I don’t understand what makes them so addictive?

Pain pills from a surgery like that i’m sure were pretty strong. Sending lots of messages to the brain to feel good. Its hard not to want to feel good. Sounds like she needs to see the Dr again to get her off the pills.

Pain pills make you feel really good, like life is grand and everything is okay. It’s hard for your brain want to feel that way, she needs to retrain her brain. Therapy helped me.
