  5. Which indicates that someone is addicted to psychoactive drugs?
Asked: 2018-01-24 00:48:01
I used to take party drugs every once in a while with my friends at raves. I think I got myself into a bad habit, and I’ve slipped into more regular drug use. How can I tell if I’ve gone beyond just occasional use and into addiction?

I hope you realize that there is no safe way to experiment with drugs. You could take just one dose that could do serious damage or even kill you. You just never know. It’s so incredibly easy to go from “occasional use” to addiction. If you feel sick to your stomach, sore, uncomfortable, anxious and depressed in between does, there’s a good chance you’re going through withdrawal and you are addicted. Please seek help if you can- it could save your life.

Make no mistake about it, just one use is enough to put you on the path toward addiction. There is no such thing as “Casual” or “social” drug use that makes it okay or safe. You never know what kind of reaction your body may have to an illicit substance, and it’s so easy to become addicted. If you are addicted, you will crave the drugs constantly, and you will begin to put drugs before family, friends, work and education. You will also suffer uncomfortable physical and mental withdrawal effects when you’re not taking the drugs.
