We want to help my brother come off drugs, I know he’s been snorting cocaine for years and it’s made his life a shambles. Someone told me an intervention can work, what’s this?

A group of loved ones closest to the addict come together and share legitimate concerns from a heartfelt place of love and concern. Usually an intervention specialist will lead the intervention to make sure it continues in the right direction with the best possible outcome. Our intervention specialist was a godsend. Things went off the rails toward the end and my brother was walking out the door but she talked to him outside and he changed his mind. Our family group hug of relief as he was taken to treatment was surreal! I highly recommend them!

An intervention is kind of like a group therapy session that the addict didn’t agree to. Everyone present will talk about his drug use and how it’s changed him and why they don’t like it.
