I like to drink when i’m hanging out with my friends but when am crossing the line. What is the definition of an alcoholic?

An alcoholic is someone who can’t stop drinking. Who wakes up in the morning and needs a drink to function.

I would consider an alcoholic to be someone who is a heavy or serious drinker, I don’t think having a few with your friends makes you an alcoholic
