What are the signs of a heroin addict?

My Dad keeps to himself, and never comes out of his room unless he is leaving the house, my Mom says it’s because of heroin. How do I know if my dad is an addict?

When my Mom was using heroin, I could always tell because she would take my shoelaces, and I couldn’t find a spoon that wasn’t burned. It was sad, she didn’t even really try to hide it from me. She died from an overdose. I hope that doesn’t happen to your dad.
